Sebastien pounded his fist against his desk, the sound reverberating through his office. He had thought Malaya Richardson would be a simple conquest—a smart, formidable opponent, but nothing he couldn't handle. Yet, her presence had overwhelmed him in ways he hadn't anticipated. The photo he had studied so intensely for hours paled in comparison to the real woman. The fire in her eyes, the strength in her posture—it all hit him like a truck, leaving him reeling and furious.

And what was that damn smell? Her subtle, intoxicating fragrance still clung to him, teasing his senses, creeping into his mind. Every time he breathed, he could smell it, and it only irritated him more. It was like she had branded him without even touching him.

"Fuck," he growled under his breath, running a hand through his hair in frustration. This wasn't part of the plan. This wasn't how things were supposed to go.

Feeling the tension mounting, he grabbed his jacket from the back of his chair and stormed toward the elevator. He had to get out of here, clear his head. But just as the doors dinged open, his phone buzzed in his pocket. He glanced at the screen and saw a text from his sister, Allison:

**Dinner tonight? Don't forget! See you at 7.**

Sebastien swore again, harsher this time. He had been so caught up in thoughts of Malaya that he had forgotten about his plans with Allison. The entire day had slipped through his fingers, and instead of strategizing his next steps, he'd spent it obsessing over Malaya Richardson.

He stepped into the elevator, leaning against the back wall as he let out a breath. His mind betrayed him almost instantly. Visions of Malaya flashed behind his eyes—her submitting to him in his office, her stubborn fire melting away under his control. The thought alone was enough to send a jolt of desire straight to his core. He shifted uncomfortably, feeling the tightening in his pants.

"I have to get her out from under my skin," he muttered to himself, jaw clenched. "Or I have to get under hers before I lose the ability to think."

The elevator doors opened with a soft chime, and Sebastien strode into the underground parking garage, his frustration mounting. He threw open the door to his 2024 Jeep Wrangler, tossing his jacket onto the passenger seat before sliding into the driver's seat. The engine roared to life, and he tore out of the garage, mindless of where he was going.

Driving usually cleared his head, but today, it did nothing. The streets of Cleveland blurred as he sped through the city, heading toward the apartment he shared with Allison. The frustration gnawed at him, growing stronger with every passing second. He gripped the steering wheel until his knuckles started to change colors, trying to push away the images of Malaya that plagued him.

By the time he reached the apartment, Sebastien was no closer to calming the storm inside him. He pushed open the door, yanking off his tie and throwing it across the room. His jacket followed, hitting the floor with a thud.

Allison was setting the table, a steaming dish of food in her hands. She glanced up at him, confusion knitting her brow. "Bash? What the hell's wrong with you?"

Sebastien growled in response, stalking toward the liquor cabinet. He needed something stronger than water to settle his nerves. He poured himself a whiskey, neat, and took a long sip, savoring the burn as it slid down his throat. He sat down across from his sister, but his mind was still tangled with thoughts of Malaya.

Allison raised an eyebrow, watching him closely. "What's going on with you? You've been off all day."

He couldn't meet her gaze. "I'm fine."

"You don't look fine." Allison's voice was calm, but there was a trace of suspicion there. She had always been able to read him, always known when something was wrong.

Sebastien let out a frustrated sigh, setting his glass down on the table with more force than necessary. He raked a hand through his hair, leaning back in the chair. "The information is good. The plan's still on target. But... there's something I didn't consider."

Allison frowned, sensing his hesitation. "What is it?"

His eyes flicked up to meet hers for a brief second, the weight of the truth pressing down on him. Malaya. It wasn't just the plan anymore—it was her. She was in his head, under his skin, and it was only a matter of time before she figured out everything, including the fact that Allison was the mole inside Enrich Her Enterprises.

Sebastien's stomach tightened. He had known the risk when he brought Allison into this. She was the key to getting inside Enrich Her, to dismantling Malaya's empire piece by piece. But now, with every encounter, every move Malaya made, he realized that she was far more dangerous than he had anticipated. And when she discovered the truth about Allison...

He couldn't let that happen. He had to protect his little sister, no matter the cost.

Sebastien downed the rest of his whiskey, feeling the burn of it in his throat. "Malaya Richardson," he muttered.

Allison blinked, confused. "The woman you're trying to take down? What about her?"

Sebastien exhaled slowly, his mind racing. "She's more than I expected. If she figures out the connection... if she figures out *you*—"

Allison's eyes widened in understanding. "She won't. You said the plan was airtight."

Sebastien shook his head. "She's smart. And ruthless. If she realizes that you're the one feeding me information, she won't hesitate to destroy you."

The room went silent as the weight of his words hung in the air. Allison's normally calm demeanor shifted slightly, her eyes narrowing. "Then we need to make sure she doesn't find out."

Sebastien nodded, but his mind was already racing ahead. He couldn't afford to underestimate Malaya any longer. She was no longer just a business rival. She was a threat—to his plans, to his control, and now, to his sister.

His gaze hardened, and he pushed his chair back from the table. He wasn't sure how he was going to do it yet, but one thing was clear.

He had to stop Malaya Richardson before she tore his world apart.
