prophecy

The evening breeze whispered through the trees. She gazed at the rippling lake. The sky was painted in hues of deep purple and gold, but her mind was far from the serene beauty of the sunset. She had been waiting for Luca. Her thoughts were tangled with questions that had gnawed at her since their last meeting. When she heard the soft rustle of leaves, she turned. A wave of relief washed over her as she saw Luca approaching.

The forest seemed to hold its breath as Katrina and Luca walked through the fading light of late afternoon. The sun, low on the horizon, cast a golden hue through the trees. Their shadows stretched long and intertwined on the forest floor. The leaves rustled and birds called in the distance. It was serene. But, Katrina's mind was turbulent, caught between awe and fear.

They emerged from the trees to the lake's shore. The water was a calm, shimmering expanse, like a canvas reflecting the fiery sky. The setting sun bathed the scene in a warm, orange glow. It cast a peaceful light that belied the storm of emotions within Katrina.

Luca led her to a spot on the shore where the water lapped gently at their feet. He motioned for her to sit, and they both settled onto the grass, facing the tranquil lake. Katrina's gaze was fixed on the water, her thoughts a whirlwind of uncertainty.

"So," she began, breaking the silence, "tell me more about this prophecy. What exactly does it say?"

Luca turned to her, his expression serious.

"The Prophecy of the Elements speaks of a young woman of angelic blood. She will control the four elements: earth, air, fire, and water." It's said that she will restore balance to the supernatural world, which is currently in a state of disarray."

"Not a vague description. I need to know exactly what it says."

"When the balance of the realms teeters on the edge, one shall rise from the union of many. Born of ancient bloodlines, they will walk between light and shadow, neither fully known nor understood. The elements will be drawn to their presence, and through trials of earth, fire, water, and air, their path will be revealed. The fate of all will rest on a single choice, and in their hands lies the power to restore or to destroy. In the darkest hour, the truth of their nature will be unveiled, and the world will be forever changed."

Katrina's skepticism was palpable. "And you believe that's me?"

Luca's eyes locked onto hers with unwavering confidence. "I know it's you. I've seen the signs and the portents. Your powers have been manifesting, and the coven has confirmed it. The prophecy is not just a story; it's a reality unfolding."

Katrina stared at the ancient text Luca had shown her, the words describing her birthmark and powers blurring together as her heart pounded in her chest. "This can't be right," she whispered, shaking her head. "I'm not the person you think I am."

Luca frowned, stepping closer. "Katrina, the prophecy-"

"The prophecy is wrong," she interrupted, her voice shaky. "I'm not some destined hero. I'm just... me. A normal human. I don't know how to control any of this." She gestured helplessly at the text and then at herself.

"You're asking me to believe that I'm supposed to save the supernatural world, but I don't even understand what's happening inside me."

Luca's expression softened, his gaze searching hers. "You're not just human, Katrina. You've felt it-you know there's more to you."

For a moment, the only sound was the wind rustling through the trees. Luca reached out, his hand brushing against hers. "You're not alone in this. We'll figure it out together. But I know you're more than what you think."
