Aldarra is bathed, perfumed and powdered and dressed in the finest small clothes and corset. Shae and Sansa help her put her dress on.
Sansa asks smiling, “Being, your on much better terms with Lord Lannister, are you nervous?”
Shae said, “Every bride is nervous.” Aldarra nodded and sat down in front of the mirror as Shae was styling her hair in a curly pile on top of her head wrapped with a gold cord and pinned up.
Aldarra was wearing a cream colored dress with a torque gold necklace capped on the ends with a male and female lion head with ruby eyes. Shae lightly draped a veil of lace over her head, Aldarra said, “I wish you were there with me, Shae. Thank you so much. I love you.” She hugged Shae.
Shae with tears in her eyes smiling, she said, “It's ok. I love you too, Lady Aldarra Lannister.”
Sansa led her out the Tower and the Red Keep to a waiting palanquin. As they got closer to The Great Sept Of Baelor, there was a cheering crowd of people.
When Aldarra stepped out with Sansa following, the crowds shouted out, “Gods bless you, Lady Aldarra!”, “Lady Aldarra!”, “Beautiful Lady Aldarra!”. She turned and waved to the crowd as they cheered. She lifted her skirts and went up the steps to the doors of the sept. Sansa had already entered through the side door. The doors opened and Aldarra stepped into the Sept stepping down to a small landing.
Joffrey stepped up to her and she looked at him through the lace and asked, “What are you doing?”
Joffrey said, “You have no father so I am the king and I am supposed to escort you to your husband. You are causing trouble outside. It best not be harmful or I'll take your head for it.” Aldarra hated the idea of touching him, but took his arm not trying to touch him too much.
They walked through the rows of nobles and all you could hear was their footsteps echoing through the sept until they got next to Tywin. Joffrey dropped his hand and left to the bottom of the stairs. Tywin lifted her veil draping it around her neck, he took her hand threading their fingers together.
The High Septon said loudly, “We stand here in the sight of the gods and men to witness the union of man and wife: one flesh, one heart, one soul, now and forever.”
The High Septon took a ribbon and wrapped it around both of their hands clasped together and said, “Hear my prayer. Bless these two noble souls. Bind them with your love, and let their union be a testament to all who witness it. In the sight of the Seven, I hereby seal these two souls, binding them as one for eternity. Look upon one another and say the words.”
Tywin has a servant present a pillow with two rings on it. He placed a ring of fine rubies and gold upon her ring finger and said, “Father, Smith, Warrior, Mother, Maiden, Crone, Stranger, I am hers, and she is mine from this day until the end of my days.”
Aldarra took his ring off the pillow that had a large ruby embedded in the band putting it on his finger and said, “Father, Smith, Warrior, Mother, Maiden, Crone, Stranger, I am his, and he is mine from this day until the end of my days.”
Tywin places a red and gold cloak over her shoulders to signify their union. They both kiss and turn to the audience as most of them applaud. The scribe went off to record the marriage. Aldarra thought, ‘Good, that didn't take long.’
Cersei said out loud, “I need a drink.” She turned and left as Tywin and Aldarra were congratulated by the nobles and bannermen.
When Tywin and Aldarra stepped out of they heard, “Long life, Lady Aldarra!” “Long live, Lady Aldarra and Lord Tywin!” “Gods bless you, Lady Aldarra!”. They chanted it over and over again. Aldarra waved at them as the soldiers held them back. Tywin and Aldarra got in a palanquin and headed back to the Red Keep to the reception hall.
