It was more than two and half years that Nakul and Rishinn had moved in with Rohini's family.

He did not realize that he was already twenty, but he realised that Rishinn was sixteen. His little sister had slowly grown up. She had gone through a difficult phase of her life while growing up. It was a time when she needed her mother the most. Nakul had found himself helpless and could not thank Rohini for being there for her.
Rohini had been there through thick and thin for Rishinn. She had held her when the girl was scared and cried. She had guided her through everything and taught her the tiny details.

Nakul could do nothing more than see his sister go through the silent painful nights.

Rishinn had grown adamant and rebel with her growing age. It was hard to control her. It was hardest to make her sit at one place and force her to study. Nakul had hard time to make her complete her homework and study for exams. She just refused to understand the importance of education. All she wanted was to find a small job and help her brother earn more. She wanted to give up on studies and that had been a bone of contention between her and Nakul. Nakul had outright refused her wish to give up on studies and work to earn.

That day too, Rishinn threw a fit and Nakul once again lost the battle. She shamelessly kept her head in his lap to sleep, forgetting everything and he too lovingly stroked her to sleep.

"Why do you force her to study so much? She does not like being pressurized." Rohini asked.

Rishinn, who pretended to sleep, but was still awake, had her ears perked up. She was thankful that atleast Rohini could understand her.

"I want to see her become a doctor." Nakul replied dreamily.

"Doctor?" Rohini asked surprised.

Nakul hummed. "I wanted to be myself one. But I could not afford to do so. I wish at least she can do that. I am trying hard to save so that she can study in a good college and get a degree in medicine."

"Ohh." Rohini blinked and looked away for a moment. "But why that profession?"

"Why not? This profession kind of fascinates me. It is the most noble profession. I do not want to force her, but it would be like a dream come true, if she listens to me." Nakul said, stroking Rishu's hair.

Rishu pursed her lips. being a doctor meant more study. She would rather do a small job than wither herself away in books. She was sure, her brother would soon understand her and would give up on the idea.
She wanted to follow Rohini's footsteps and find a small job.

Rohini had landed herself in a lavish shopping mall that was newly inaugurated in their town. She was working as a salesgirl in a boutique. The staff consisted of girls her age and she really enjoyed her work. The pay was good too. Rohini was fascinated by the collection of expensive clothes in the boutique. What caught her attention was, a jewellery shop on the upper floor. She had been to that shop a few times and was mesmerized by the sparkling diamonds in the gold and platinum jewellery. It was a treat to the eyes.

The jewels could not satisfy Shirom. He was wondering aimlessly in the section of the shopping mall, not able to decide what would suit on his beautiful sister. She would have been sixteen by now. A smile appeared on his face when he spotted a small heart-shaped Ruby. He was sure that Rishinn too, would have a heart-shaped face, just like his beautiful mother. Thinking of his mother, he rolled his eyes. He was in trouble once again. he was late the previous night nad Nisha just refused to acknowledge him in the morning. She went overboard and did not cook breakfast for him, leaving him to eat fruits and milk. There was no way to pacify his mother.

Paying for the ruby and the gold chain, he sprinted to his car and drove towards the hospital. He waited patiently near the gate of the hospital, where his father, elder brother and Bade Papa were working at the moment. Shirom had stopped going in the hospital, since he lost his grandfather.
