Time passed as the trio waited in the Courtyard. Whoever this 'Giana' person they were waiting for seemed to be taking her own, sweet time.

"She probably has no regard for this mission- always pent up in her maps, the girl," Klaus muttered under his breath, pushing his glasses up his nose again to make sure that they sat right on the bridge. Yuno wasn't paying attention, to be honest. He was busy paying attention to how big the courtyard was. Mimosa was busy in deep thought, or so It seemed.

After a few minutes, Yuno felt a presence rustle down the hallway. He took a few seconds to process without turning around; so he took note of the weird feeling of Mana he got. The process of his brain only took him about 15 seconds, but by the time he turned around, he bumped into the very same presence he had felt earlier was suddenly a lot... closer. And by closer... His head meant-

Crash!

Yuno stumbled backwards, and almost fell over. He rubbed his hip, since that was where something had seemed To run into him. Or perhaps- some..one? He looked around, wincing at the after shocks of the collide of his hip with the mysterious force.

There was a soft "sorry.." heard among the fluster of voices in his head. He looked down as a last resort, and saw a girl picking up scattered papers and scrolls on the floor. He raised an eyebrow, taking note of her blood red hair. He was about to bend down to help, when she finished up and stood straight. She looked at him, and they locked eyes.

The girl's eyes were a pure, hazel brown. Though they did seem to have hints of green in them; it wasn't noticeable unless examined closely. The shared staring contest seemed to only go on for a short period before the shorter girl blinked, and walked away. She made her way over to Klaus, handing him a scroll. He cleared his throat and pushed up his glasses, lips pressed into a grim line.

"You're late. By eight minutes. I can't believe the team's planner is a manner-less, uncoordinated little girl, Giana."

His tone was cold and pressing as if he didn't have much of a positive connotation on this girl's character. Yuno noticed that it was even harsher than how Klaus spoke to Him, which was a surprise. He also noticed that Klaus had called this girl 'Giana' - meaning this was the teammate they had been waiting for. Klaus cleared his throat again, this time sounding less genuine and more like he was trying to get everyone's attention.

"Anyway, everyone, this is Giana," Klaus gestured to the girl again before addressing her in turn, "Giana, this is Yuno - he is the one that possesses the four-leaf clover everyone has been talking about, I'm sure you know. And this is Mimosa - she joined through the royal recommendation route."

Yuno waited for Giana to fawn over him (begrudgingly) like everyone normally did... but she didn't even turn fully to look his way. She spotted him through the corner of her eye and then turned to look completely at Mimosa, all with the same blank expression she had worn since the start. She turned back to Klaus and Nodded; "Alright."

Mimosa smiled cheerfully and waved at the red-haired girl; earning a nod and a slight, wonky smile in return. Klaus cleared his throat in annoyance yet again, and pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose (Yuno suspected Klaus may need to get a smaller pair if the ones he had on kept falling like this... but that was secondary). "We must depart, we are far too behind schedule as it is- we do not have any time for further formalities."

The trio nodded, and Giana Folded the papers and wrapped the scrolls up tightly enough so that they could fit in a small side bag she was using for the day. They walked out of one of the base's many pathways leading outside. As soon as they were out, Yuno, Giana, and Mimosa all found their way onto their respective brooms. Mimosa sat on hers like a... normal, polite person, to say the least. Yuno stood, which wasn't too bad. It was just a sign that he was confident enough in his mana control not to have to sit down and regulate it. Giana Took her bag off and placed it in a small wood holder built onto the side of the broomstick, securing it properly so that nothing would fall off. The way she got onto her broom was rather... unusual, because she bent down into a kneeling position. What's worse? She stayed there.

'Is that really how she chooses to ride her broom?' Yuno pondered, not letting his gaze linger for too long.

However, Giana wasn't the worst one of the bunch. Not even close. Because Klaus didn't even Use his broomstick- No, while Yuno was lost in his thoughts Klaus had conjured up a chariot made of steel using his magic. After a moment of silence (which Yuno could tell was caused by the shared thoughts about Klaus' transportation choice), everyone took off on their respective vehicles.

"So..." - Mimosa's voice broke the silence clouding the air for about fifteen minutes since their takeoff - "Where are we headed? Like, what exactly is the meetup point?" She brushed a hand on the wood of her broomstick, trying to ignore the awkwardness caused by everyone on her team being quiet.

Yuno picked up on these signs but kept quiet. Honestly, he didn't have an answer to the question - he had just been riding along with Klaus and the new girl since they seemed to know where everyone was headed. He shrugged, maintaining eye contact with the orange-haired girl who had been speaking earlier. "I don't know."

Klaus scoffed, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose again, (Yuno oughta write him the referral himself to get the size of those changed) but kept his gaze fixed forward.

"We're heading to-"

"The capitol."

Yuno raised an eyebrow as the three of them turned their heads to the new girl, and she didn't seem to care for anyone's body language at all. In fact, she had a map in hand and that was all she was focused on at the moment. "We're heading to the capitol - and Klaus, get a smaller pair of glasses." She mumbled the last part a bit quietly, but everyone still heard. Mimosa stifled her laughter as Klaus jumbled his words for a response.

Yuno sighed, looking ahead once again at last. This Day one, and there's already a feeling in the pit of his stomach -

A feeling that something's not right.
