I held Corey's hand as he led me through the rambunctious club. the Hawks had just won their first game of the season against the red wings and now we were out celebrating. I stopped in the hall that led to the private room and looked up at Corey.

"what's wrong?" he asked in an bothered tone.

"they won't believe us. we don't even act like a couple, Crawford, we act like best friends. no sexual tension whatsoever," I explained.

he turned around and looked at me with a daring gaze. his smile dropped to a straight face. he walked towards me and pressed my body against the wall behind me. his large frame engulfed me as his lips attacked mine.

I stood at a stand still for a few seconds not quite sure of what was happening but I guess my mind wasn't controlling my body because my arms began to wrap around his neck.

Corey pressed the heel of his hand into my waist and wrapped his long fingers around my body. he came back slightly and looked me in the eyes.

"no sexual tension? you've gotta be kidding me."

"it's been to long," I breathed out. my cheeks had to be bright red because he hadn't taken his eyes off of me.

he removed himself from our embrace and walked to the door. I fixed my dress and followed after him. he grabbed my hand and led me into the room. the team stood around tables. shots poured and champagne was spraying out of bottles and glasses.

I grabbed a drink from one of the waiters and found myself to Andrew's side.

"Mutt," I laughed. he hugged me and handed me a shot glass full of what looked like tequila.

"Cheers pedigree. it's your first Blackhawks party!" he said in a booming voice before we both threw back the liquid.

I smiled at realizing the nickname he gave me. pedigree. a mutt and a pedigree. shaw was easily my best friend here even though it had only been a week or two since we met.

Corey came up behind me and placed his hands on my waist.

"dance with me," he slurred in a husky tone. I turned around a followed him to where some of our guys were dancing.

we danced against each other for a few songs before I decided i was done for the night. Corey followed me back to the bar area and ordered us both drinks.

for the first time tonight I looked at him thoroughly. I didn't notice earlier he was wearing the shirt I bought him a few years back as a welcome home present. he paired the white and black checkered shirt with a black suit and tie.

he dipped down, pressed his lips to my ear and whispered, "I think we need to kiss again. maybe we have tonight but that didn't see it."

I smirked and looked up at him. he kissed me softly and pulled my lip between his teeth. I tried to pull back but his hand on my back kept me in place.

suddenly I was flashing back to that night that changed us. his hand on my back, that shirt, the night we swore to never speak of but the night that changed the game we played with each other.

"Ari," Corey mumbled, "are you okay?"

"yeah. I'm fine," I promised him, "can we go home? I'm not feeling well."

"yeah," he nodded, "let's go."
