As I navigated the winding stone corridors of Hogwarts,

the silence broken by the echos of my every step on the worn stone floor, headed towards the potions class.

The heavy wooden door creaked open as I struggled to push it,

revealing a dimly lit chamber that seemed to whisper secrets of ancient magic.

The air inside was thick with the pungent aroma of simmering concoctions and the faint scent of mysterious herbs.

My eyes widened as I scanned the room, observing the rows of bubbling cauldrons that lined the wooden workstations,

the gentle gurgling and soft hisses coming from them made the room feel alive.

Dusty glass bottles, filled with an array of colorful liquids and peculiar ingredients crowded the tall wooden shelves.

I settled into my seat at the front of the classroom, scanning the room as the other first-year students filed in.

My eyes searched for familiar faces, only to see a girl with wavy brown hair infront of me.

A bright smile radiating excitement splashed across her face.

Plopping down in the adjacent seat. "Hey, im Hermione Granger!" she exclaimed. "You must be Y/N. Mind if my friends join us?"

"Hey, nice to meet you," Harry said, extending a hand.

Ron snapped back to reality, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Yeah, hi!"

I accepted the handshake from Harry and continued observing the room.

My gaze wandered around taking in the sea of unfamiliar faces, and then I saw him - Draco.

Our eyes met, and I felt a jolt of unease. "Unbelievable,"

I muttered under my breath, my face falling into a disappointed scowl.

I swiftly looked away, but the sensation of his piercing gaze lingered.

Professor Snape's voice cut through the tension, his low, gravelly tone commanding attention.

"For todays potions lesson, you will need to work in pairs."

I turned to Hermione, only to find her already paired with Harry, and Ron teamed up with a classmate behind him.

As everyone scattered to get into pairs, I still remained without a partner myself.

Panic began to set in so I raised my hand, trying to sound calm.

"Professor, I don't have a partner."

Snape's eyes snapped to mine, a flicker of irritation splashed across his face.

"Who else," he paused, his tone dripping with disdain, "..does not have a partner?"

The room fell silent, and I held my breath. Then, to my disapointment, Draco stood up,
