I give up on love.

Today, I decided this would be the finale of my love story. I will turn over this new leaf come the new year with a hustling mind and a secure lifestyle.

The heaven gates will sing down on the next man before I think of dating again. A total of four relationships all failed in the past five years, it's like the cycle of toxicity followed her everywhere.

"Answer me!" The voice of her now ex-boyfriend yelled, inches away from her face.

Freshly beat with cover girls' matte skin #610. She remained calm while her fist were itching, trying to prevent her perfect French tips from doing something she knew would end horribly.

Brena thought he was the perfect guy. His smile being the best feature, long canines on both sides to give the illusion he could pounce on her in a second. He was like a new fragrance she got from the store and refused to wear anything else because of the way the smell hypnotized her. He was that to her. A hypnotizer.

"Rylan.." Brena breathed.

"Here you go with this shit!'"

He proceeded to scream like a manic and she knew then he was not the man she thought she shared the same air with.

The fights were ruthless but, in the beginning, they were the best of friends. But now, this somehow became her hell.

The days they'd spent sharing childish talks and giggles now an everyday battle of the fittest and lately she's been slacking on her membership to defend herself.

"I'll call a uber" She spoke.

The tingle in the back of her head reminded her she would shut down completely, Rylan calls her a robot for disconnecting her feelings on demand.

Brena thought it was better than going upside his head with an iron.

If she had any idea going to the club on this Saturday night would lead to the breakup as well as being embarrassed, she would have never asked him to join her and her friends at the bar.

The notification of uber trying to find her a ride sounded the car just as the first drop of a horrendous rain fell onto the windshield. It poured so severely it caused the car to echo. Rylan's phone chimed with a message coming through. He quickly skimmed the bright lit device before chucking it into the side door.

"Look, I feel as if we both need space to think tonight. I love you Brena, you know that right?" He resembled calmness but Brena was suspicious of his actions.

All of a sudden he isn't shouting anymore and she anticipated it would have last up until til she was inside the Uber.

"Yea" She forced herself to say.

"Brena baby, we're not gonna let some kiss get in-between us. It's not worth it... I told you before I didn't like you hanging out with those b***hes, can't you see they're all jealous of you?" He tried to touch my face causing me to pull back slightly as a response.

"I scared you baby, I know that but I would never hit you. I wouldn't be a man if I do you like that"

4 mins away- Notification chimed for her uber and she couldn't have been more relieved. She couldn't take this brainwashing anymore, the more he spoke the more she wanted to curl in a hole and stay there. The love she'd once have for this man is gone, a two-year run is all they'd shared together which was more bad than good anyway.

Brena faked a smile and kissed the man's cheek. She wasn't going near that mouth after he just got done with some girl in the club. Who knows what he might wake up to in the morning.

As the Uber notified it was there bright headlights shined inside of the darkened car they sat inside.

Checking her phone to make sure the model was the car sitting just inches away Brena didn't take another second before sprinting into the Uber. Her black dress now soaked from the heavy rainfall of the night.

"Ugh.. Uber for Damien" the driver spoke.

"Yes" she confirmed while the man watched her suspiciously.

Opening her iPhone she retrieved the thread of said Damien.

'I'm in the Uber' she texted.

•••••

'Bet' he replied.

Clicking the phone to lock she watched out the windows of the tinted Uber. The rain was getting heavier and the wind picked up its speed.

Brena felt horrible for the many homeless individuals without shelter in this storm. She couldn't stand how many just looked past them as if they weren't anything. If she was rich, this wouldn't be happening.

The more she watched the tress pass the closer she was. When the gated community came into view she immediately fixed her posture and became alert to her surroundings.

The Uber pulled to the side of the curb outside the community.

"Thank you" she told him before exiting and running to the black Audi waiting her arrival.

Jumping from car to another she settled inside the Audi, shaking the droplets off her shoulders.

"Damn what happened to you?"

"I don't wanna talk about it" she said honestly, she wanted to just ease her mind and thoughts. get it over with.

The silence ate at her.

"What you wanna do if we can't talk"

"You know exactly what I'm trying to do" with one swift move she was pulled into a heated kiss. The fire she felt within her only needed one person at this time and it just so happened to be her unbelievably toxic ex that she for some reason couldn't get rid of.
