As Luna rose from her seat, the light in her eyes dimmed, her usual playful nature seemingly buried under the weight of Alex's words. Alex watched her, noticing how her movements had grown slower, more deliberate. It was as if she was trying to brace herself for whatever confrontation lay ahead. He had seen her face battles without flinching, yet here, in this quiet hotel, she seemed more fragile than ever.

Alex led Luna back through the hotel's corridors. The air between them had shifted once more, thick with uncertainty. Alex felt an unfamiliar pull—an urge to protect her, even from whatever truth Lucifer held. His wolf's warning still echoed faintly in his mind, but Alex pushed it aside, focusing instead on the woman beside him.

Luna, wrapped in his thin blanket, appeared deep in thought. Every step they took seemed to draw her closer to the inevitable, and despite her strong front, he could feel the weight of it in her silence. She hadn't asked any further questions, but her clenched fists and her furrowed brows betrayed her inner turmoil.

As Alex grabbed his bag from the room, Luna found herself staring out the window, watching the clouds roll in. A storm was brewing—not just in the sky, but within her. She had asked Alex to accompany her to Lucifer's and Davina's, because she had only thought about herself , she thought she could use him as shield but she never thought about him - Will this put him in danger ? . Now, as they prepared to leave, she was beginning to regret her decision. The gravity of the situation pressed down on her, making it hard to breathe.

Something isn't right.

She could feel it, deep in her bones, like an itch she couldn't scratch. How could someone as powerful as her be reduced to this—weak, mortal, with no memory of what had happened? Luna had fought battles against gods and monsters, always emerging victorious. But this... this was different. Whoever had done this to her hadn't just taken her power—they had wiped her memories of the incident, leaving her with nothing but a gaping void.

And the answers she had were scaring her more than she was willing to admit.

As they walked down the lobby, heading toward the hotel exit, Luna's steps slowed. The cold air that hit her in the corridor wasn't the only thing making her shiver. It was that feeling again, gnawing at her gut—a sense of dread that something terrible was about to happen. She glanced over at Alex, watching his calm, determined expression, and wondered if she had made a mistake dragging him into this.

Luna stopped abruptly in the middle of the hotel lobby, her heart hammering in her chest. She turned to Alex, her voice soft but laced with tension. "Alex, wait."

He paused, his brow furrowed in confusion, turning to face her with an arched eyebrow. "What's wrong?"

Luna bit her lip, feeling the weight of the situation crash down on her. Her voice came out shaky, betraying the storm inside. "I think i made a mistake... you should go back. You don't need to get involved anymore. You've already helped me contact Lucifer—just leave it at that. Just tell me the direction , I will find the place myself."

Alex's frown deepened, and he took a step closer. His usually sharp eyes softened with concern, but his tone remained firm. "I'm already involved, Luna. Whether you like it or not, I'm in this. I told you I'd take you to them,." He hesitated, glancing away as if weighing his words. "After that we can go our ways."

Despite his calm exterior, there was an undercurrent of worry beneath his words—worry he tried to hide, but Luna could sense it. His wolf had already warned him of danger, and though he trusted her strength once, now... he wasn't so sure. She wasn't the goddess she used to be, and leaving her like this gnawed at him more than he cared to admit.

Luna shook her head, a nervous tremor running through her as she clutched the blanket tighter around herself. "No, you don't understand," she said, her voice lower, more urgent. "This isn't simple. I don't know how, but someone powerful is behind this. Whoever they are, they took me down without a fight—me, Luna, the Elder Wolf Goddess—and I can't even remember it. That's not something just anyone can do. If they're powerful enough to strip me of everything... then they're not going to hesitate to come after you too." Her eyes searched his face, pleading. "You should leave before you get pulled any deeper into this mess."

Alex's eyes narrowed, his jaw tightening as his pride flared. "You think I'm scared of them?" His voice was low, but it carried a dangerous edge. "You're underestimating me , Luna. I'm not some weak wolf—I'm an Alpha King of the entire wolf race. There's no one out there who can mess with me without facing the consequences beside I've already promised to take you to Lucifer, and I intend to keep that promise. After that, we can part ways, fine. But until then, I'm not leaving you alone." His gaze bore into hers, unyielding, daring her to argue.

Luna hesitated, chewing on her lower lip, her mind racing. She felt a surge of frustration at his stubbornness but also a pang of guilt. "But what if they make their move while we're on our way ?" Her voice wavered, the underlying fear surfacing. She wasn't just worried about herself anymore—she was worried about him.

Alex was silent for a moment, his expression hardening as the realization hit him. He looked away briefly, scanning their surroundings, then back at her. "How can they?" he muttered, half to himself. "No one knows where we are, or—" His eyes met hers, and in that split second, he knew. Someone did know.

Before he could ask, Luna cut him off, her voice quiet but steady. "Last night... I saw someone. In the alley where we came from." She swallowed, her throat tight with unease. "I didn't see his face, but the air around him—it was sinister , thick with darkness and power. He wasn't someone ordinary. I tried to approach, but before I could get close... he vanished."

Alex's face twisted in anger, his eyes flashing. "Are you insane?" His voice was sharp, laced with frustration. "Instead of running , You approached a stranger you suspected might be dangerous , alone? Don't you get it? You're not a goddess anymore, Luna! If someone wanted to kill you, they could do it in a heartbeat. Can you use your brain for once?" His hands clenched into fists at his sides, the anger clear in his voice as he tried to hold himself back. "You're mortal now, damn it. You can't just—"

Luna remained quiet, her head lowered. She knew he was right. In that moment, she hadn't thought things through. The memory of the figure from last night had rattled her, and instead of running away, she had gone after the stranger alone , when she doesn't even know who she fighting against . It was reckless, stupid. But more than anything, it was dangerous.

Seeing her silence, Alex let out a slow breath, forcing himself to calm down. His jaw still tight, he spoke more quietly now, though the frustration lingered. "Look... after we get to Lucifer and Davina, we'll go our own way. But until then, you need me to get you there. That place isn't part of this dimension, Luna. You can't just wander into it. Only someone who knows the way can find it, and a mere living human can't find it. "

His words were final, leaving no room for argument. With a tense nod, they both made their way to his car. Sliding into the passenger seat, Luna felt a pang of regret for pulling Alex into this. She glanced over at him as he started the engine, his face focused still simmering with frustration, kept his eyes on the road, his senses heightened, scanning their surroundings for any sign of danger. His wolf was alert, restless, ready to fight if needed. but there was a flicker of concern in his eyes. He wasn't as unaffected by all of this as he pretended to be.
