The cold metal of the restraints bit into Aurora’s wrists, the dim flicker of the asylum lights reflecting off her pale skin. The walls were sterile, suffocating, trapping her in a reality she didn’t believe was hers. She didn’t belong here—she wasn’t like the others. At least, that's what she told herself, night after night, as she stared up at the cracked ceiling, listening to the distant murmurs of nurses and patients.

In the quiet hours of the morning, when most of the world slept, Aurora was wide awake, plotting her escape. Her thoughts were restless, clouded by memories of a past she couldn't fully grasp. They whispered of snow, of white roses, and of a world beyond the one she knew.

It was during one of these nights that the opportunity arose. The guard—Mike—entered her room, bringing her the dessert she always waited for, a small bowl of ice cream. She watched him, her heart racing, calculating. She didn’t want to hurt him, but she had no choice.

The baton came down harder than she intended. His body crumpled to the floor, and she ran. Through the cold, sterile halls, past rooms filled with the lost and forgotten, Aurora fled. But freedom was not waiting at the end of the hallway.

A shove from behind, a flash of red hair, a scream. She was falling. Time slowed as the window shattered and her body tumbled into the night, into the bush of white roses below. And then, everything went dark.

When Aurora woke, the world had changed. Gone were the sterile walls and the oppressive silence of the asylum. She was surrounded by snow, the air cold and biting. Small villagers with wide eyes stared at her in fear and awe. In the distance, a comet blazed across the sky, illuminating three strange eggs resting at the center of the village.

She had crossed over. To where, she didn’t know. But one thing was clear—there was no going back.

A new world lay before her, one filled with magic, darkness, and destiny. And as the wind howled through the frozen trees, Aurora Hart would soon learn that her journey had only just begun.
