A Bright Future
"Get your ass over here and act the hostess. I can not do this all by myself!"
"I am not the Mistress of this house. It would be unseemly for me to assume the position." Elsbeth snapped right back.
"If you wish your precious cannery, you will do your part." Erich tugged the girl along with his stride, which he knew, was too long for her legs to match.
"Alright!" she pulled from his grasp, whispering harshly, her lovely face flushed and lovely in the light of the large ball room. "But, I have no notion whatsoever, of anything I can say to those men that might be of interest!" She pointed jerkily to the gathered ensemble across the crowded room.
"Best not to talk, if I know you, just stand there and look like you might accept an indecent proposal if they wish thrown one your way." the man teased, of course, knowing the men with whom they dealt were honorable and...married.
"I told you to wear the gown with the low cut front bodice." his eyes dropped to the ripe, young breasts displayed so fetchingly in the other low cut gown she had chosen.
"If this were any lower, you could see my navel. Your mother keeps throwing daggers with her looks as is."
"Just be charming." he grated. "What the hell, woman. Work what God granted!"
Elsbeth glanced to her person. In her opinion, God was being awfully miserly the day her assets were handed out. "I will do what I can...asshole." she whispered 'stridently'.
"One would hope for more." The man held his smile.
"Gentlemen, this is the...lady...I have been telling you of." he brought her forth, presenting her like a duck on a platter, in Elsbeth's thoughts.
She turned on a dazzling smile. "Gentlemen. How pleasant to make your acquaintance." she offered over a charming curtsey.
Erich's brow crinkled but he remained silent as the 'Gentlemen' took it from there.
An hour down the line, the young girl had them eating out of her hand. Erich noted, once she settled down, she actually seemed to be enjoying herself, her natural curiosity and genuine interest in others coming to the fore.

"How is it coming?" the man approached finally to rescue her. Taking a private moment to confer, for she seemed wish such an opportunity.
"Better than I thought." he had 'thought' she would do just fine but no need for her to hear such praise at this time. "We retire soon to the study with our brandy and cigars. You women will go your way. If you like, you can retire, actually. I shall take it from here."
"But...it went well?" she lay a small hand on his forearm, forestalling his exit. "Is there something else I can do?"
"Short of offering yourself up on a spit, no. I said to be charming, not available."
"You most certainly did say to be available." she took umbrage. "It is exactly what you said."
"You hear what you wish to hear, evidently." The man pulled his eyes form the sweet cleft of those young breasts. "You have half those men squirming in their breeches...they are married you tart! Care you nothing for your reputation?"
"What is left of it?" the girl retaliated. "They know you keep me for your own uses...they are worldly, seasoned men. This is entirely on your head...which is balding, by the way."
"Had enough last night for you to grasp when I was attending to your clit." he countered.
The woman...closed her eyes. "If I were a man, I would call your sorry ass out!"
