❥★ -----------------------------------------------

It was the morning, about 6 AM sharp. Sprout was sitting up right in the bed reading a cookbook about new recipes he hadn't done yet, one sparked his interest though, "Angel fruitcake." During his reading session he hadn't noticed that his obnoxious page turning had woken Cosmo up. "Morning Cos, sorry if i woke you up!" Sprout would glare into his book once more.

"Sprout? What are you doing it's 6 in the morning..." Cosmo looked at Sprout annoyed since his not so silent reading woke him up. "...Just reading about some new recipes I wanted to try. Anyways since your awake now wanna go watch a movie? It alright if you wanna go back to bed." Sprout smiled nervously. "Sure, why not?...not like I can go back to sleep anyways." Cosmo got up and slid on some purple house slippers before heading off with Sprout.

When they got to the bean bag area in the projector room, the two settled down in front of the projector, the light of the machine flashing a picture on the wall as they sat close to each other, just a little closer than usual. They talked and laughed away for hours, talking about recent activitys and future plans.

After the "movie" (it was Literally two frames of Razzle and Dazzle repeating in a loop..) Sprout got up, thinking of ideas to do now. "Should we go make angel fruitcake? I saw something about it in my cookbook."

Cosmo, bit a confused on how to make it still agreed. "I don't know how to make that... but sure, That'll probably be fun!"

When they got back they gathered ingredients and everything was fine until a certain someone showed up, Vee.

"Well, if it isn't 'Berry-boy' and his cosmic brownie." Vee's voice was filled with a tone with teasing energy.

"I hope whatever you're making doesn't end up tasting like chemicals Sprout. You know, berries like you are basically soaked in them!" Vee chuckled a bit at her own joke.

Sprout sighed. "You always use that insult, i mean i cant blame you. You are outdated tech after all." Cosmo began to snicker (get it SNICKERS poke poke nudge nudge) "True, how even old is she pft-!"

"HEY! Back in my day i was all the rage, Everyone wanted a tv!!!! Who even wants strawberries over a tv, their worthless compared to that!"

But Cosmo, usually more reserved and never violent EVER, stepped forward. "I'll grab some water and short-circuit you if you keep that attitude up."

Vee immediately backed off, her screen flickering nervously. "Alright, alright! No need for water, Jeez-! Sensitive much?" When she got the chance she ran to her room and locked her door.

Right as Vee left, Goob would peek around the corner, once seeing the duo he ran up to them once he saw them. His voice was soft but full of concern. "Uh, guys... something's off with Dandy. He's been acting weird... running off, doing strange things." Sprout rolled his eyes. "It's Dandy. He's always been like that." Cosmo, unlike Sprout, frowned. "We should probably listen to him, Dandys always kinda scared me. Anyways, I'll grab some sugar from the warehouse that we needed."

"Be safe." Sprout called after him as Cosmo walked to the elevator. Goob fidgeted nervously as Sprout brushed off his concerns, seeing it nothing more than Dandy just being Dandy, a freak. Goob couldn't help but stare at the elevator nervously as Sprout stood there in the background.

A little while later, Cosmo returned with the sugar, unscathed. After getting the ingredients they began mixing for a bit, during this Sprout decided it would be a good idea to use an electric mixer... it flung him off. The two had fun throwing batter at eachother etc. However Suddenly they heard Goob yell "DANDY!"

Sprout stood there confused on what he meant, unable to notice the twisted behind him. Behind him there stood Dandy. But something was terribly wrong, he was larger with his arms looking forcibly stretched out and looked completely horrifying with his sharp cat-like teeth. His usual soft cheerful looking rainbow petals were sharp, his form twisted, and an eerie black ichor covered him everywhere.

"SPROUT MOVE!" Sprout gasped as he was brought back to reality by Cosmos yelling, realizing "Dandy" was behind him.

Without warning, Dandy lunged toward Sprout, his sharp claws reaching out with a sinister intent. Sprout's heart raced as he sprinted toward the elevator whilst he tightly grasped Cosmos hand, dragging him into the elevator to also get him to the warehouse, barely dodging the attack. He could hear Dandy's thud-like footsteps echoing behind him, shaking the floor and also terrifying him.

Sprout finally would reach the warehouse, Cosmo about to go hide with him he declined. He didn't want Dandy to get Cosmo since Dandy was so hellbent on getting him. Even though Cosmo hid away somewhere else he wasn't alone nor did the toon there want to be alone. Glisten was there, now shattered. "Sprout..? You wont leave me too right..!"

"."

"I'm sorry it's just that-"

Dandy suddenly saw Sprout and ran towards him making him back up into a corner, giving Dandy's claws an opportunity to scratch his arm, the ichor seeping into the wound.

"OW!" Sprout ran to the elevator, luckily Dandy had lost interest in him after the attack. After going back to the toon rooms he would go to his room. Sprout winced in pain but quickly grabbed a vial of medicine and first-aid stuff, wiping the ichor away before it could infect him further. His scarf, now disheveled, was stained with ichor.

Back in the kitchen, Cosmo sat alone, his thoughts spiraling. He hadn't seen Sprout come back, and the weight in his chest felt heavy. He gripped the edge of the counter, trying to stop the tears from welling up. His best friend, the one he cared about most was gone, just like that.

Suddenly, the door to the bedroom opened, and Sprout staggered out, clutching his arm.

"Sprout?" Cosmo's voice broke as he rushed forward, tears brimming in his eyes. "Are you okay?" Sprout, despite his exhaustion, managed a grin. "Am I okay? Look at you! You've been worrying yourself sick!"

The relief in Cosmo's eyes was overwhelming, and they stood there for a moment, with nothing but silence. The both thankful the other was safe.

But the moment didn't last.

Dandy had followed Sprout, his misshapen form now looming in the doorway. Without hesitation he lunged again, his claws extended. But this time he lunged his arms toward both of them. Sprout grabbed Cosmo's hand, and they ran together back toward the projector room. "We need to hide..." Cosmo whispered, his voice slightly trembling as they stumbled inside.

Dandy wasn't far behind, his twisted figure stumbling over itself as he tried to keep up. Sprout's heart raced, knowing he had to protect Cosmo at all costs. But just as Dandy caught up to them, claws ready to strike, Sprout turned to face him, willing to sacrifice himself for Cosmo. "Run! I'll hold him off." Sprout grunted and he ran from Dandy. "SPROUT NO!" Cosmo practically cried as he saw the one he care for the most at such danger. "Cos, please. It's either me or both of us. Do this for me.." Sprout looked down distraught. "But sprout-" "Cos I'm so sorry, don't ever forget how much I love you."

Cosmo, too overwhelmed, hid in the corner, his breath quickening as panic took over. He wanted to help, to help prevent the inevitable, but his mind spiraled leaving him unable to think reasonably. His best friend was going to be gone, and soon, everyone would be too.

And then, the room echoed with a splashing sound. Sprout was gone.
