The day was over for Abhay but only in the eyes of the world. His car soon reached the premises of 'Thakur Haveli' and his eyes were met by his grandmother, Gayatri Thakur , who stood there in a pastel green saree with a pearl necklace around her neck and her hairs tied into a bun with a side part. Her eyes brown in colour looked at him with no proper expression.Even filled with wrinkles her face shone with pride.

Gayatri Thakur was not just an ordinary old woman, she was the Regal Thakurain. Her journey started when she was just 14, being married to a man who was 10 years older than her, Vardha Raj Thakur, the sarpanch of Arjansar, a village popularly known for their temple and rules.

Arjansar gained respect as a village with the village having proper hygienic conditions , adequate hospitals and schools for both boys and girls promoting girl education in a time women were just considered a good to be married off.Gayatri when she first came into the Thakur Haveli as the wife of Vardha Raj Thakur, she seemed like a little fragile girl but no one knew this haveli will turn her into the woman everyone will bow down to, not because she was their Sarpanch's wife but because her presence will command respect wherever she will go.

It all started after the marriage, Vardha Raj sent Gayatri to school to complete her education until 12th,then after that he homeschooled  since there wasn't any proper college for women in those times in the village and males and females studying together was considered immoral.Even though, Vardha Raj was someone who thought it to be utter bullshit but still he needed to follow some of the society's rules. He homeschooled her in her college years. So that, she can learn all that she wanted.

Even after being  given all the training of all kinds of subjects, Gayatri still wasn't confident in her own self. She always used to fear what people would think of her.Gayatri was 17 at that time but she was scared of men after all her friends have told her about what their husbands did to them. She was scared of her husband too, he was a stern man who believed in discipline  and hated even a bit of slacking off in work.Teenage Gayatri had been married to him for three years but never had she once talked to him on any other topics else than her studies nor they talk to each other like normal couples.

Gayatri used to feel that Vardha Raj thought of her as a burden on him but Vardha Raj on the other hand was someone who lost his parents when he was 12 in an accident and his uncle made him marry Gayatri.Even though, he liked her , he never really understood how to communicate with her.She used to flinch even with the use of a slightly higher tone and was sleeping most of the days until the time Vardha Raj returned from his work.Being a man who was challenging the rules and rebelling against the traditions, it was difficult for him to have any time for himself and his family.
