𝐋𝚰𝐋𝐘'𝐒 𝐏𝐎𝐕

The reason I’m enduring all this crap is my family. I just want to give them a perfect life, to be the daughter they’re proud of. But it seems like the world—or more specifically, Park Jimin—has his own twisted way of testing my patience.

I’m so glad I left the office right after handing him his precious, ungrateful design. And his response? Just a dismissive “go.” Who does that?

“Hey, goggle baby, what are you thinking about?” Abby’s voice cuts into my thoughts, snapping me back to reality. She’s half Black and half Korean, with gorgeous tan skin and striking green eyes. And that curvy waist? To die for.

I leaned back on Abby’s sofa, letting myself sink into the cushions. Abby was beside me, her eyes warm, her easy smile making me feel a bit lighter. But I knew she could see right through me. Despite the small talk, I couldn’t shake the frustration boiling under my skin.

"So," Abby started, stretching her legs out, "what’s got you all serious? Your boss really that bad?"

"Ugh, you have no idea." I rolled my eyes, scoffing as I thought about Park Jimin’s cocky face. "I put my heart and soul into making sure everything is perfect, and all he says is, 'You can go now.' Just dismisses me like that."

Abby laughed, shaking her head. “I mean, I’ve heard he’s got the looks, though… right? You know, tall, dark, rich, and handsome?”

“Sure, he’s gorgeous, but that’s the worst part—he knows it. The man practically wears his arrogance like a designer coat.” I shook my head, feeling the frustration spark up again just thinking about him.

She snorted. “If I were you, I'd just focus on the paycheck. These corporate guys… they’re all the same.”

"I know, I know." I let out a sigh. "It’s just… I’m doing this for my family. I want them to have the life they deserve. But it’s like Park Jimin and the universe are teaming up to test every ounce of my patience.”

“Then keep thinking of them, Lily. You’re stronger than you think.” Abby’s hand landed on my shoulder, giving it a squeeze. Her words warmed me, bringing a flicker of comfort.

Before I could respond, my phone buzzed, the notification lighting up my screen. My heart sank when I saw the name: Ro Won.

Abby’s eyebrows shot up. “Are you serious?” she scoffed. “That guy is still messaging you?”
