Chapter Fifteen

The day of the long-awaited court hearing had finally arrived, and an air of anticipation enveloped the courthouse. On one side stood Jeon Jungkook, his heart brimming with hope and optimism. He had tirelessly fought for his love, believing steadfastly that today would be the day his love would prevail. His confident demeanor radiated a sense of victory even before the proceedings began. Every moment leading up to this day had been filled with strategic planning and heartfelt preparation; Jungkook was ready to prove his love and obsession for the man he laid his eyes on and decided to make him his.

In stark contrast, the Kim's found themselves engulfed in a storm of anxiety. Taehyung paced back and forth, his mind racing with fears of the impending judgment. His mother cast worried glances at her son, the weight of their situation pressing heavily on her shoulders. The absence of the elder brother only added to their unease; his sudden claim of having work to do felt more worrisome than a mere coincidence. As the hours ticked by, Taehyung and his mother exchanged worried whispers, realizing that their lack of concrete evidence to support Mr. Kim's innocence left them vulnerable and desperate. Desperately searching for a glimmer of hope, they clung to the belief that perhaps, against all odds, something could still turn in their Favor.

The Judge came into the courtroom and everyone stood up in respect and he signaled the lawyers to proceed with the hearings.

The Lawyer from the Jeon side stood up to put his Appeal first he clears his throat and starts "Your Honor, I stand before you today to present a case that has not only violated our client's trust but also undermined the very fabric of ethical business practices. Mr. Kim Hanbin, the defendant, has been systematically stealing money from the Jeon company for quite some time."

The judge listened carefully and spoke "Please proceed, What evidence do you have to support these allegations?"

"Thank you, Your Honor. We have gathered substantial evidence, including financial records that demonstrate irregular transfers and withdrawals that align suspiciously with Mr. Kim's activities. Furthermore, we have testimony from employees who witnessed him manipulating accounts and diverting funds." The Lawyer continued

The Judge nods and asks "And how much are we talking about in terms of stolen funds?"

The Lawyer makes eye contact and said "The total amount misappropriated exceeds 500 million won, Your Honor. This is not just a case of embezzlement; it's a betrayal of the trust that was placed in him as a Senior accountant."

The Judge leans forward and asks" I see. That is quite a significant sum. What punishment are you seeking for Mr. Kim?"

"Given the severity and premeditation of his actions, we request a strict punishment of ten years in prison. Such a sentence would serve not only as justice for the Jeon family but as a deterrent to others who might consider engaging in similar fraudulent activities." The lawyer said and he hears  gasps around the court room as the punishment for fraud is not this severe but the Jeons are going all out in this case.

On the other side Taehyung clenched his fist with tears forming into his eyes he is scared with how will he save his Appa and he can also see his mother crying which is making him feel helpless.

"The court will look into all the proofs and then will give the judgement you may take your seat" The Judge said to the Lawyer.

"Defendant you can now put in your appeal in front of the court" The judge said to Taehyung

The atmosphere is tense. Taehyung stands before the judge, gripping the podium with white knuckles. His heart pounds in his chest. He takes a deep breath, trying to steady his nerves.

"Thank you, Your Honor. I stand here today not just as a lawyer, but as a son... deeply concerned for my father's future. He is not guilty of the charges brought against him. He is being framed."
