Damon Salvatore was a hundred and forty-five year old vampire who had followed his brother back to Mystic falls after being away for over a century. He was cold, calculated and hadn't been able to care for anyone since before he became a ruthless vampire.
Though the moment he caught sight of her beautiful blonde hair, smelt the faint scent of vanilla on her, and heard her charming southern accent, he knew he could never kill her. In fact, from the moment their identical blue eyes met, he knew he would protect her for an eternity.
