Once Upon a Witchlight:

"I found more berries! How many do you need, Twig?"

Gricko pushed apart a bushel of berries and picked a few ripe berries out. He placed them in his jacket pocket and kept scouting for more. Twig was making some kind of pie, and she ran out of these berries before she could finish the filling, so she sent Gricko out to find more while the rest of the crew sat back at the clearing for some lunch.

Gricko was just about to push apart another bush when he heard a small sniffle behind him. Suspecting it was Frost, who left to go find a water source, he turned around and smiled. "Hey, Frosty. Did you find any kind of water sour-" his eyes landed on you as he stopped short. Standing there behind him was you, a small 4-year-old human dressed in nothing but rags and dirt. You sniffled again, your eyes raw from weeping, stomach empty and body shivering from a failure at attempting to find shelter and food. Gricko's eyes widened, and his crooked but warm smile dropped into a look of concern. Or even worry, to place it at that.

"Oh! You poor thing!" He said, wandering over and touching you on the shoulder to clarify you weren't a fey trap. You jerked your arm back away. He flinched in surprise. "I'm sorry! Did I hurt you?" he asked. You look at him, then throw yourself into his arms, which he wraps around you. You begin to start crying once more, crystal-clear tears dripping down your red, splotchy face. Gricko tightened his grip around you, hushing you and trying to get you to calm down. "It's okay... shh, shh. I'm not gonna hurt you." he whispered. You look up at him, and sniffed again, beginning to talk a little bit. "N-no....?" you muttered. Gricko smiled lightly. "Not in the slightest. Here, let's go get you to meet the others!" He smiled. He hitched you up, despite the fact you were almost the same exact size, him being a goblin and all. He turned you inward toward his chest and walked you back to the clearing. "Twig's making dessert for lunch, and you don't wanna miss it."

Uprooted:

"So....are we keeping them or....?"

The raccoon stared down at you, a little 6-year old jackrabbit who just happened to stumble into a group of people including a frog folk, a raccoon, a pug, a mouse, and a chipmunk. They all looked down at you, and you just kicked a rock, trying to avoid eye contact at all costs with this group of weirdos. Or at least, you perceived them to be weird. The chipmunk spoke up. "We could. They are kind of cute!" She chirped in a high-pitched English accent. You finally broke gaze with the ground and looked at her, a light in your eyes. If they keep you, you might survive out here! "I agree with Hazel, I kinda like the kid." The pug agreed, nodding his head. The raccoon rolled his eyes. "Of course you do, Grumley. You're too soft to be a knight, good Gods." he huffed. "Besides, even if we did keep the kid; who the hell is gonna feed her? We can barely find food ourselves and kids are pretty much bottomless pits!" the raccoon whined. That upset you. You picked the stone that you were kicking and wheeled at him, the rock catching him in the nose. He stumbled back, shouting a not-so-nice word. "BOOKER!" Hazel cried. You grinned, knowing you won. Booker turned his gaze to you, blood now dripping lightly from his nose. "Listen here, you little douche-wad." he growled. "I will send you right back to the likes of where you came from!" he shouted, getting in your personal bubble. You smiled mischievously. "Too bad." you laughed. He paused. After a few minutes of silence, the frog spoke up.

"Let's keep them."

Ravenloft: Edge of Midnight

You trudged through the woods. You were exhausted, and your little 5-year-old legs could only get you so far. It had been about three days since you ran away from your abusive home and it's been 4 since you last had a drink, and you felt ready to pass out and let the decrepit earth and it's decomposers take you back to the dirt. Your eyes were puffy from crying and baggy from no sleep. Just as you were about to take one more step, your legs gave out and you collapsed. Your body wouldn't let you go any farther, or else you would die of dehydration and overexertion from said dehydration. Your eyes began to close. I'm not gonna be okay. I'm sorry, mommy. You thought. Just as you faded out of consciousness, you see the bottom half of a tall, lanky figure in the distance about 5 feet away. The legs began to run toward you and you hear a crow squawk. Then? Darkness.

. . .

"....Are they alive?"

"Yes, but they're holding on by a thread. Go get me some water or something, Jericho."

"Yes, Miss Lethica."

You slowly open your eyes, and look around. You just happen to look up and see 5 people looking over top of you, bustling about. One of them is hunched over and seeing if you're still alive. She's tall and pale, with bone-white hair and an owl-like mask hiding her true face. "Hello there, dear." She said in a soft, breathy, monotonous voice. You attempt to turn your head to see the rest of them, but she holds your head in place. "Don't move too much. You hit your head pretty hard on the ground." She muttered. Just then, a blonde-haired man with pale skin and red eyes kneels down on the other side of you. He spoke in a calm, but clearly concerned voice. "I got some bandages, Lethica. Do you think they have a concussion?" "Thank you, Marius. And I do believe they might." Lethica seems to add a little more emotion to her words when she speaks to Marius. You blink, and mutter weakly. "W...water...?" "Yes, dear. You'll get water as soon as Jericho comes back." Lethica smiles down at you. And speak of the Devil, in comes Jericho with a small vile of a clear substance. He hands the vile to Lethica. "Thank you, Jericho." she nods. She leans down and opens the top to the small vile. "Now, try to open your mouth." she instructs. You submit and open your small mouth. She pours the vile down your throat. The substance is strong, nothing like water. And it wakes you up right quick. You shoot up and sputter out the rest of the substance. "Bleh! That's n..ot water!" You squeal. Everyone around you lurches back a little bit. The woman behind Lethica, who had the top half of a woman and the bottom half of an animal, snatches the vile and scans it, before turning around and glaring at the man named Jericho, who appeared to be a living scarecrow. "Tha thu amadan! That's not water, that's vodka you fool!" she shouts. Jericho cowers and shrinks back. "I'm sorry!" he cried. The woman kept shouting at him, and Marius got up and attempted to scold the woman. "Farrynn, stop it! You're gonna scare the poor kid!" But the woman's berating persisted. Your eyes widened and flicked around. Lethica was trying to stop Marius, and Marius was trying to stop Farrynn from sending Jericho to the floor. Behind you stood two men, a cloaked half-orc and what looked like an undead gator dressed in pirate garb. The shouting and cast of this crew were too much for you to handle, and you plugged your ears. The shouting continued and it looked like they were all, including the two men behind you, were about to start fighting physically. And this triggered something in you that pushed you, or something inside you, to the breaking point.

Something that wasn't human...snapped inside you.

"STOP!" You thundered, the rage of something not of this world filling your voice.

Everyone in the room went quiet. They all turned to you with wide eyes, and closed mouths. You drew ragged breaths. There was a chill that hung in the air. After a moment, The undead pirate broke the silence.

"What...was that?"

(Part 2 is Next Chapter. Part 2 will include Curse of Strahdanya, Icebound, and Twas' The Night Before Witchlight. Unfortunately I will not be doing Prime, Beneath Dark Wings and Stardust Rhapsody as I don't know enough about them to get character personalities correct. Once I do watch them, I will give you all your dose of them. Have a good day/night :>)
