Too Much Cologne

Chapter 2

Brian sets the coffee down in front of the man at the table in front of him, smirking at his clear reaction to the pheromones Brian is giving off. While it may not be the most pleasant smell, it has the chemical effect he's looking for, as the man is clearly trying to hide his blushing cheeks and squirming hands. But brian doesn't do anything more than wink at him knowingly before returning to the counter with a smile.

But that smile fades and he sighs as he watches Chadwick entertaining another table, for some reason people tended to ask for him over Brian a lot, but he could never figure out why. After a few minutes Chadwick returned to the counter with the tables drink order, handing it off to Brian to make, who in turn rolled his eyes before stepping over to the coffee machine to make it.

This got a hearty chuckle from Chadwick, who in a deep, hearty voice said "It's not my fault they like me over you bro, they can probably smell you from here."

To which Brian responded with "I haven't heard any complaints yet, you know the omegas out there just love the pheromones, which is exactly why I'm gonna win our little bet."

He smiled arrogantly, while Chadwick just looked confused, "Dude, what bet?"

"Our bet, you know, that I can get more omegas into an early heat than you can" said Brian.

At this Chadwick's eyes went wide, and the annoyance was clear on his face. "Dude, I thought you were joking about that! That's not cool bro, violating someone's bodily autonomy like that is not okay, and it's the kind of thing I'd expect a teenager to do, not a grown alpha. You gotta be better man."

Brian was a little taken aback, as he had expected some laughs and maybe some competitive banter, not expecting to be called out like that. And so he doubled down, "You just don't want to lose, cause you know if you do you've gotta go clubbing with me for a week, and on your dime too."

Chadwick at this point is used to the little taunts and jabs, so he calmly retorts with, "Bro I will book a hotel room downtown right now so we can go party or whatever if it gets you to quit messing with people and wear less of that cologne. But if I do, you've got to go to my pack's seminar with me on toxic masculinity and alphahood, because clearly you need it dude."

Brian really thinks this over for a good minute, until he over pours the coffee he was working on lost in thought and the hot coffee snaps him back to attention, with Chadwick quickly grabbing his hand and wrapping a damp napkin over where the coffee spilled, muttering about his clumsiness. For some reason this moment seems more peaceful to brian than it had a minute before, and he agrees to Chadwick's terms, thinking, 'How bad could this seminar be?'
