A Few Weeks Later
The shadows were my allies tonight as I crept through the darkened hallway toward the basement.
For weeks, I'd been mapping out every corner of Ghost’s mansion, searching for an opening to reach Inspector Khan and Mehta, who I knew were hidden somewhere within this prison.
Tonight, luck was on my side—the guards had shifted positions, leaving a rare, brief window for me to sneak past.
Finally, I reached the steel door that led down to the lower levels.
The air was damp and thick as I descended the narrow stairway, my footsteps silent.
Every sound felt amplified in the silence, each creak of the floor making my heart race.
The thought of finally connecting with them, of working together to dismantle Ghost’s empire from within, pushed me forward.
After carefully maneuvering past another guard, I reached the cell where Khan and Mehta were being held.
Their eyes widened in surprise as I appeared, my finger pressed to my lips.
“Ria?” Khan whispered, struggling to keep his voice low. “How did you get down here?”
“It took some planning” I replied, glancing around nervously.
“But I don’t have much time. We need to talk.”
