Rough hands yank Noah to his feet, shoving him toward the waiting security detail. Zip ties bite into his wrists, the plastic digging into his skin. He glances over at Hayes, who's being manhandled by two burly guards, his face a mask of pain.
Sophie and Jordan are shoved roughly against a wall, their faces pale but resolute. Jake struggles against his captors, fury burning in his eyes. "This isn't right! We have a right to know what's going on!"
His words are met with stony silence. V, however, seems strangely calm, his gaze fixed on a point beyond their captors. He doesn't resist as they bind his hands, his expression unreadable.
Their captors march them through a series of sterile corridors, the air thick with the scent of disinfectant and fear. They pass by rows of identical doors, each one a silent testament to the Megadome's oppressive order. Finally, they reach a heavy steel door guarded by two armed men.
One of the guards barks into a comm unit. "We have the detainees, sir. Bringing them in now."
The door hisses open, revealing a spacious, brightly lit office. Behind a gleaming desk sits a man in a crisp white uniform, his expression cold and calculating. Noah recognizes him from the announcements – Commander Tanaka, the head of Megadome security.
"Leave them," Tanaka commands, his voice sharp as shattered glass.
The guards shove the group inside and step back, flanking the door. Tanaka surveys them with a dispassionate gaze, his fingers drumming a silent rhythm on the polished surface of his desk.
"So," he finally says, his voice laced with disdain. "The intrepid rebels. We've been expecting you."
Hayes straightens, ignoring the throbbing in his leg. "Then you know why we're here. The truth about Tier 1, about what's really happening up there – it ends now."
Tanaka scoffs. "The truth? You children wouldn't know the truth if it stared you in the face. You've been fed lies, manipulated by those who seek to undermine the very foundations of our society."
"Those lies being the safety and well-being of everyone in this dome?" Sophie challenges, her voice trembling with barely suppressed rage. "You hoard resources, restrict movement, keep everyone in the dark while you live comfortably in your ivory tower!"
"Silence!" Tanaka thunders, slamming his hand on the desk. The room falls silent. "You will address me with respect," he growls, his eyes boring into Sophie. "Your actions, your insolence, will have consequences."
Noah steps forward, fear battling with righteous anger. "We're not afraid of you, Tanaka. You can't keep us quiet any longer. People are starting to wake up, to see the truth."
Tanaka leans back in his chair, a chilling smile spreading across his face. "The truth? You think you have a monopoly on the truth? You and your band of misguided fools?" He shakes his head. "You're nothing but pawns in a much larger game, children. And you're playing for the wrong side."
"We're playing for humanity," Jordan retorts, his voice low and dangerous. "For a future where everyone has a chance, not just the privileged few."
"Humanity?" Tanaka laughs, a harsh, grating sound. "Humanity is weakness. Sentimentality. It's what brought the world to its knees. Here, in the Megadome, we are building something new. Something strong. Something that will endure."
"By murdering anyone who disagrees with you?" Noah asks, his voice thick with disgust. "This isn't a society, it's a prison."
"Order," Tanaka corrects, his voice cold and hard. "Control. Necessary measures for the greater good."
