After the converse of the passing of Gandalf, Galadriel dismissed them. She had said they were in need of rest, so here they sat at the base of a tree. It had been a couple hours since they laid down, everyone else seemed to be asleep.

The hobbits all huddled together, Gimli leaded against a root of the tree, his axe in hand. Aragorn and Boromir laid with their heads resting on a root, both snoring. Aegnor and Callon both on either side of Tari. But she couldn't sleep, and by the looks of it neither could Legolas.

Their eyes met in the dim light, and she could see the unspoken concern in his gaze. " You can't sleep either?" She whispered, not wanting to disturb the others.

Legolas nodded slightly. "The night whispers to many secrets, and my mind races with the fate of our journey."

Tari sat up, careful not to wake her brothers. " we are all burdened by the weight of this quest, but we must find strength in our unity. Remember we are not alone in this fight."

His eyes gleamed of admiration as he looked at her. Her courage was like a beacon in the dark forest. He leaned back against the tree, the bark rough against his elven skin. " you speak wisdom, Tari."

Tari offered him a small smile. " I just wanna help, Legolas." She hesitated. " Do you want to take a walk?"

Legolas nodded, and they both stood up leaving their slumbering companions behind. The moon casting a silver glow on the forest floor, illuminating a soft path for them to follow. Their footsteps were quiet, almost silent as they walked further away.

" Do you ever miss home?" Tari asked, breaking the serene silence.

Legolas gaze shifted from the moonlit canopy to Tari. " Every moment," he replied softly. " But I am where I am needed."

They walked side by side, the gentle rustle of leaves and the occasional sound from the animals of the woods were the only sounds accompanying their contemplative silence. The air was cool and damp, carrying the scent of moss and earth. They both sit on the edge of the river bed.

The water flowed peacefully, whispering secrets of its on in the night. Tari picked up a smooth stone, feeling its weight in her palm before tossing it into the river. It skipped once, twice before disappearing in the dark water with a soft plop.

" here," she handed him a flat stone. " give it a try."

Legolas took the stone with curiosity, examining it under the moonlight. He had watched the hobbits play this game countless times but had never felt the urge to participate, but something about the twinkle in her eye he couldn't turn down.

Tari demonstrated once more, her eyes gleaming of excitement as she sent the stone dancing across the water. " Now you."

He took a deep breath, focusing on the stone, and with a flick of his wrist, sent it to the river. It skipped once before falling into the water. He laughed, a sound that seemed to resonate with the night. Tari clapped lightly, her eyes sparkling with delight. " not so bad for a first try." She said.

" But You're holding it wrong, let me help." Tari leaned closer to him, taking his hand and guiding it into the proper position. Her touch was warm and gentle, sending a rush of unexpected emotion through him.

He looked back at her, realizing how close their faces were. The moment stretched filled with unspoken words and racing hearts. The moonlight danced in her eyes and for a moment Legolas saw something between them. But before he could lean in any closer, they were startled by a sudden noice from the bushes behind them.

Callon, Tari's younger brother, emerged from the shadows, a look of mild annoyance on his face. "What's going on here?" He whispered harshly, his eyes darting between them.

Tari quickly pulled away, her cheek flushing with embarrassment. " Nothing," she replied, a little too quickly. " we couldn't sleep, so we're just passing the time."

Callon's eye narrowed, but he said nothing. He noticed the tension between them and how they kept stealing glances at each other, but he was too tired to argue.

" Tari we should return, it is almost daylight and we have to talk to Galadriel." She nodded and followed him back but not before looking back at Legolas but was only met by his back.
