Ninjago: Newcomers

Chapter 2

Eric's POV:

We failed our mission.

We were supposed to find our lost cousin, Jack, and defeat our other but evil cousin, Derek. We were loaded with relatives. We reached Ninjago, but I guess we went to the wrong island. Whoops.

"What's for breakfast?" Another voice said at the same time as me. I turned around. It was the guy, Lloyd.

"Who made breakfast?" We both said. "Stop saying what I'm saying. Stop it. Stop. This creepy. And cool."

"Anyone else seeing this?" Jay asked, hiding under a chair.

"Yes, this is weird," Kai replied, a distant look in his eyes. He was looking at my sister. Realization hit me. He was crushing on her. I turned to Cole. He was glaring at Kai, and yet staring at Theresa at the same time. Skills? Yup.

"Since you guys offered us a night," Theresa smiled. "I made breakfast." She sent a cinnamon roll on each of their plates.

"As in, cake?!" Cole lit up as he dug into the cake.

"Guys," Nya had a worried look on her face. "Zane is gone."

"Nindroid Zane that likes to throw random facts at us anytime he can, Zane?" Jay asked with his mouth full. Nya nodded her head.

"Zane?" I asked.

"The white guy," Kai explained.

"Gandolf?" I replied. Lloyd busted out laughing again.

"No, element of ice, Zane!" Cole answered. I nodded my head. I barely knew him, but he seemed important to them.

"Then we won't be in your way by the time we leave," Theresa smiled. Fear was in Cole and Kai's eyes.

"Is one of your cousins a pirate, Eric and Theresa?" the lady Misako asked. I nodded my head frantically. "I think we might know where he is."

"Where?" I tipped over the chair I was sitting in as I stood next to her. Garmadon, who was known as Lloyd's dad, wrapped his arm around Misako.

"Chen's island," Garmadon whispered.

"Where?" Jay swallowed down the last of his breakfast.

"Chen's island," Garmadon repeated. "And if your pirate friend is there, who knows when he'll come back. Or if he ever will."

Theresa's POV:

I couldn't believe it. They knew where he was. They knew where Jack was!

"Then we will leave know," I grabbed Eric's arm. "Let's go."

"Wait!" Kai's voice sounded scared, and wanting. I turned around to see that his nose was close to mine. I released Eric and took a step back.

"You can only get there by boat," the ninja's Sensei said. "and we will not let you go alone."

"Why not?" I protested. "This isn't your fight!"

"And this isn't a battle you will win alone, Theresa," their Sensei sighed. I slumped into a chair in defeat. They were probably right. If Jack was still at the island, that meant that it would be more difficult than I thought.

"Fine," I looked at Eric. He seemed to start to like them.

"Great," Eric and the Lloyd guy said. "Then we should sneak onto the ship-stop it!" I couldn't help but giggle. They would become good friends, I hope.

Eric needs more than just me.

Nya's POV:

I leaned on the counter as I tried to stop thinking about Zane. Where could he be? No one just disappears. He barely managed to put himself together when we found him. I looked at Jay. He was smiling goofily at me. I smiled back. He always knew how to cheer me up.

"So when does the ship sail?" I asked. Sensei shook his head. He handed me a paper.

"We were invited to his island," Sensei told me. I looked at the letter.

Greetings, Ninja,

You are invited to be in The Tournament of Elements. At midnight, head to the docks to be shipped off to us. Don't bring any weapons. And if you don't want to go, maybe this will change your minds.

A paper dropped to my feet. Two faces were on it: Zane's and a pirate's.

"That's Jack!" Eric smiled. If he smiled any wider, I promise he would crack.

"So, are we going?" Cole asked. "'The Tournament of Elements' doesn't sound pleasant."

"I don't care if you guys are going," Theresa got up again. "We are going with or without you guys." All the boys looked at each other. Finally, Cole and Kai said,

"We're going."
