As the night came, the group reunited on the beach, the same place where they sit every summer evening and enjoy their time together.Andrew and Lexi were late because Lexi barely got Andrew to come to the beach today. He wasn't in the mood, but he couldn't say no to his beloved. They arrived at least an hour later, holding hands and smiles on their faces, well at least Lexi was smiling, Andrew's wasn't real.
When their friends saw them holding hands, they were shocked because they didn't expect to see the people who hated each other the most in this group looking so in love with each other. It was no secret that their friends secretly hoped that one day these two would give each other a chance and maybe something would happen between them."Hey guys!" Lexi and Andrew told their friends and sat down on the sand.Andrew sat behind Lexi, she leaned against his shoulder and wrapped his arms around her stomach."How long have you two been together?" Dom said laughing a little. "Since yesterday." Lexi replied smiling at everyone.Their friends were happy for them, then everyone started talking about different things. Andrew didn't engage in any conversation, he sat with Lexi in his arms and listened to the others' conversations. He didn't want to sit here at all, but he didn't want to spoil Lexi's good mood. Instead of talking, he preferred to drink beer. He had already drunk two bottles and Lexi didn't like that.
"Yo Andrew, what are you so down about? Did Lexi not want your appetizer?" Jeremy asks laughing, he had already had a lot to drink and didn't know what he was talking about. And he was jealous because he had always liked Lexi. "Jeremy, I'm going to ask you to shut up because today is not my day at all and I would happily smash your face into the ground." Andrew replied taking a sip of his beer. Lexi could feel Andrew's anger rising again, and it wouldn't be good if he got even angrier."Aw the big baby isn't having a good day." Jeremy said in a baby voice, clearly nagging.
Andrew was silent for a moment, trying not to say anything, but he was just too angry and wanted to say something. "Okay, if your father beats your mother your whole life, and still does. Are you going to have a good day?"Andrew's question made everyone fall silent. Some covered their faces with their hands, disbelieving what such men as his father were capable of. Jeremy fell silent as well, his gaze fixed on the ground."Your silence is enough for me." Andrew got up from the sand and left, leaving everyone to their thoughts.
Lexi ran after Andrew. She feels bad for what he's been going through his whole life. Lexi didn't know what it felt like to have your father beat your mother while you were in the other room hearing these things, but she knew it sure hurt. With a frantic gait, Andrew was heading for his car. He really didn't want anyone around him right now, but Lexi couldn't afford for him to be alone because he would do something stupid.
Andrew stopped in front of his car and leaned against it with his back to Lexi. He breathed in and out, trying to hold back his anger so he wouldn't take it out on his beloved.Lexi could hear Andrew softly crying, and it really broke her heart to see him hurt. She wrapped her arms around his stomach from behind and rested her head on his back.
"Andrew it's okay.." Lexi said in her gentle voice, but this time Andrew wasn't getting any help. He just wanted to cry his heart out and go home and let this horrible day be over.Suddenly, Andrew wiped his face and got into the car, Lexi also got in.
The drive home was quiet, the two didn't say anything to each other.
Lexi looked at Andrew every two seconds, making sure he wasn't in tears again. After a few minutes they arrived at his place. Andrew hurried into his house, then into his room.
Lexie hurried after him and caught him before she locked herself in her room."Andrew please talk to me!" Lexi said to Andrew who was wiping away his tears as he took off his clothes to go take a shower.Andrew went to his bathroom without saying anything. He stood in the shower and let the hot drops of water fall on his skin.
His head rested against the tiled wall, his thoughts drifting elsewhere. He felt terrible, for things that weren't even his fault.Suddenly, the opening of the bathroom door brought him out of his thoughts. He saw Lexi now wearing only one of his t-shirts and her hair in a bun. Andrew could not resist the beauty of his beloved, however much he was not in the mood for anything. Lexi felt his eyes on her, but she pretended not to see him.Andrew turned off the water and got out of the shower, he couldn't stay so far away from Lexi anymore.
He wrapped a towel around his waist and approached her.Lexi turned to look at him as she leaned on the bathroom counter."I'm sorry.." Andrew murmured, still not looking into her eyes.Lexi wasn't mad at him, she understood the way he felt.
"Don't feel sorry for things that aren't your fault. You're a human and you have the right to feel. I'm not mad at you or our friends that you're just hurt by your father."Lexi cupped his face and placed a small kiss on his lips. She smiled at her boy then hugged him, making him feel good in her warm embrace."I love you." Andrew whispered in Lexi's ear, enjoying this sweet and loving moment.
