CHAPTER 9

The gentle Breeze wind coming through the window tingling the faces of the two sleeping girls. The Sunlight peeking in giving the room a luminous touch. The birds on the branch of the tree chirping a melodious song and the soft blanket that kept them warm from all those Cold nights.

Left bed occupied by shurina While the Right bed was occupied by Claire. They both sleeping soundly because of the tiredness they felt from all those Adventurous events yesterday.

How much they wish everyday could go like this. Peaceful.

But everything lasts only for sometime. The same's for this peace.

*Knock* *Knock* *knock*

The gentle but urgent knock on the door disturbed their peaceful sleep.

"Cla..ire.... Go.... ope...n the do...or"

Shurina sleepily said and pulled the blanket on her face.

"M..hm..."

Claire slowly sat on her bed to stand up but remained glued there.

*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*

This time the knock was louder than before.

Claire was snapped out of her sleepy state and she stood up with her blanket wrapped around herself as a cocoon.

"Coming...."

She took slow strides towards the door which in itself took 7 minutes to reach. After reaching she twisted the door knob two times and door unlocked.

The opened with a slow creak and revealed a Brown hair middle aged woman. By the uniform she seemed like a staff of the school.

"Good Morning Ms. Shurina and Ms. Claire"

The middle aged woman greeted us. But we were not in the state to respond to her greeting.

Claire keep staring at her blankly with half closed eyes while I was still stuffed in my blanket.

After noticing that nobody had any intention of greeting back the middle aged woman cleared her throat and got straight to the point.

"I've come here to tell that you're late to your lectures and it's been four periods already. I hope you both haven't caught any type of illness and are good. If yes, then please hurry up and-"

Before she could finish shurina threw a pillow which hit the door and shut it on her face.

Claire didn't respond in anyway as her eyes had already given up.

"What was she talking about?"

Shurina's voice came out muffled as my face was buried in the pillow.

"I don't know"

She strode in a sickly way towards her bed and plopped herself on it.

A silence then engulfed the room. The bird's chirping and the 'swoosh' sound whenever the breeze passed near her face could still be heard.

After some minutes passed and Shurina came to her senses she asked.

"What's the time?"

The sluggishness in her voice could still be noticed.

Claire on Shurina's command forwarded her hand to the table beside her bed. She slowly took the alarm and moved it to her face.

".....11:24"

She replied.

Her reply came with a heavy silence.

Nobody tried to start the conversation again.
