Chapter 9 - Ice Cream

Point of View: 2nd Person

You sat back down at your table after getting your lunch. The girls all talked with you as you ate. The time passed by quickly, and before you knew it, it was time for your next class.

You quickly headed to your history class and found your seat between the Tokito twins.

"So you actually made it on time today," Yuichiro mocked as you took your seat.

"Yes I did," you answered, not humoring him.

He grit his teeth the and furrowed his brows, "fine be like that."

Muichiro turned to you. His gaze locked onto your face.

"You look pretty today Y/n," he said as he scanned your features.

"Thanks Muichiro," you said shooting him a kind smile.

He smiled back.

"Alright class, get into the same groups as last time!" Your teacher shouted.

You stood up and moved to the back of the class with Muichiro, Yuichiro, and Zenitsu.

You guys spent the period talking about sun breathing, as well as researching it, and figuring out how to present and create your project.

"We should put a sun in the middle that's says 'Sun Breathing" on it," you offered, and everyone nodded, agreeing with your idea.

"Y/n you're sooo cute! And smart!"

You side-eyed the blonde, "thanks Zenitsu."

"So if I'm correct, you all did research at home," you ask the group, in which they all nod in response.

"Okay good."

Yuichiro chimes in, "you're lucky I did your research for you too."

The comment was supposed to be nasty, and make you feel quirky, however you just turned to him and smiled kindly.

"Thanks Yuichiro, I really appreciate that, it means a lot to me that you went out of your way to help me out," you weren't gonna let Yuichiro ridicule you, instead you were going to be kind and see how he acted about that.

Yuichiro face grew red and he furrowed his eyebrows, his eyes widening. He tried to retort or say something back, but just ended up stuttering and fumbling over his words. This earned giggles from the rest of the group.

"Oh shut up!" He partially yelled.

Yuichiro pouted, his eyes drifting over to your giggling face.

She's laughing, just laughing, so why does it affect me so much? Why do I feel this way over seeing her laugh? Making her laugh. I want to make her laugh more. I want that smile to belong to me, I want to see it everyday, and I want to be the one to make it appear.

Muichiro stared at his brother, and noticed how Yuichiro looked at you longingly. Muichiro felt his vision cloud with jealousy. He had noticed you first, you were his.

"So what is everyone doing after school today," Zenitsu asked the group.

"I'm going on a run," Yuichiro stated bluntly.

"Homework," Muichiro said to the whole group, however his gaze didn't meander from you, his eyes stayed glued to your face.

"Oh! Yuichiro, do you mind of if I come along with you," you asked him.

You had been meaning to get a run in, maybe you would find an after school sport to stay in shape.

Yuichiro face turned red at your offer.

"U-uh no- I mean sure, but only if you can keep up! I won't hesitate to leave you behind if you're too slow," he answered.

You giggled, causing his heart to skip a beat.

"Thanks, I'll make sure to not drag you down," you said smiling at him.

Suddenly your conversation was interrupted by the bell.

"Yuichiro, text me a meet up place," you quickly said before exiting the room.

He nodded but you didn't see it, you had already left. You didn't see the way he looked at you, the way his eyes lit up when you walked in the room. He immediately felt a tinge of... what was it? Loss? Emptiness? No. Sorrow?

Why would he feel upset? He hadn't realized how much your absence affected him. Despite his cold personality, he liked hanging out with you. He enjoyed the time you both spent together even though it was short-lived.

Just like you hadn't noticed his gaze, Yuichiro didn't notice his brother's glare, aimed directly at him.

You headed to your homeroom, seeing Inosuke there. You walked over to him with a cheerful smile plastered on your face.

"Hey Inosuke," you said politely, gaining his attention.

"Y/n," he exclaimed, his cheeks dusting pink. "Are you free after school?"

"I'm not sorry," you answered apologetically, causing his face to droop slightly.

"Oh, nevermind then," he speaks.

"What were you gonna ask,"

He looks to the floor and then the wall, avoiding your eyes. His cheeks were now a brighter shade of pinkish red

"I wanted to go hang out.. maybe get some ice cream," he mumbled shyly.

Your eyes widened in slight shock. You had always thought Inosuke kind of disliked you due to his attitude. In fact you didn't really think he liked ANYONE except for Giyuu.

"Tomorrow," his ears perked up and he raised his head to look at you.

"Tomorrow," you repeated. "I'll get ice cream with you tomorrow after school, you said smiling at him.

Hi eyes lit up and he couldn't help the smile that broke out onto his face.

"Ice cream it is! You better not get a gross flavor like mint chocolate chip you weirdo!" He said to your face.

Gosh he was excited.
