Now don’t get me wrong, is the story through the normal worlds kinda Minimal? Yes, but it makes more sense than people give it credit for. The main point of the story is Sora is trying to get his powers back, after losing them in the dream world. During this journey as he does get powerful again, the main villains are messing with him. Probably to try and mess with his head so they can win. But it makes sense that they’re not more prevalent, because it’s essentially a war coming. No matter how prepared you are, it never hurts to keep getting more prep. The Warriors of Light have a lot more they need to do, like getting more lights and becoming stronger. Because it’s a one sided stacked battle they’re coming into. 7 VS 13 temporarily before getting back Terra, Roxas, and Xion. They need to be as strong as they can be. Both sides do. Because they’re fighting for a super weapon essentially. The only reason the Lights win. It essentially comes down to Sora being as strong as he can be, because, without Sora everyone would be dead. In the actual battles it’s completely one sided. Riku VS Xigbar and Riku Replica, Mickey VS Marluxia, Larxene, and Luxord, Ventus and Aqua VS, Vanitas and Terranort, and Axel and Kairi VS Xion, and Saïx. And also everything was leading up to the Ending. Everyone knew the ending was the important thing. We didn’t need a whole bunch of stories in the worlds because if we did. The pacing would suck. The main 3/4 of the game was all just about Sora getting his powers back, and becoming stronger for the coming war. And the Ending was about the actual War and the battle, coming to an end of the Xehenort Saga. A very fitting end in my Opinion.
