"Your husband looks kind enough" Rhaynna whispered as they walked into House Velaryon manor Rhaenyra smiled at her sister, though it was laced with a hint of concern. She saw the trepidation in Rhaynna's expression and reached over to give her hand a reassuring squeeze "Yes, he does." she replied quietly, a hint of warmth in her voice. "And House Velaryon is a loyal family to the throne." "How lucky" Rhaynna said stopping in front of a door Rhaenyra nodded, her thoughts slipping momentarily into a feeling of gratitude for her own marriage to Daemon. She noticed Rhaynna's expression, the worry and trepidation on her face, and her heart ached with sympathy for her sister.

"Rhaynna, are you nervous?" she asked gently, her voice soft "My marriage is in a few weeks to lord Gwayne Butterwell" Rhaynna said walking away after a knight stopped them from entering a room with their father. Rhaenyra tensed at Rhaynna's words, a slight frown creasing her brow. She had known about the betrothal, of course, and her own thoughts on the matter were far from favourable. But she kept her own feelings guarded, knowing that her sister needed her support now more than ever "Yes, I know..." she said, her voice careful. "It's a good match, isn't it?" "Everyone I know says that, I do not want to marry him" she said walking the halls Rhaenyra's frown deepened as Rhaynna spoke. She had a sinking feeling that her sister's unhappiness would only worsen "Why not?" she asked gently, trying to understand her sister's reluctance. She knew all too well what it was like to have one's choice in marriage taken away.

"...I want to marry prince Quentyn" She said searching for listening ears Rhaenyra halted abruptly, surprise and concern washing over her. She had seen the bond between Rhaynna and Quentyn, and as much as she liked the young prince, she knew this could be dangerous "Rhaynna..." she said, her voice serious. "You can't say things like that... you understand why this isn't possible, right?" "I know, he's not from Westeros and both nations are on a standstill, but I love him" she whispered, Rhaenyra took a deep breath, her heart aching for her sister. She knew how strong her feelings for Quentyn were, and the thought of trying to dampen those flames broke her heart. But she knew what was expected of them, and that love was rarely a part of the equation when it came to arranged marriages.

"I know you do... but love isn't enough, Rhaynna. Duty and responsibility have to be considered." "You're starting to sound like father, and it's really annoying" Rhaynna said irritated. Rhaenyra flinched slightly at her sister's words, her heart twisting with guilt. She knew she was starting to sound like their father, and it pained her to see the look on her sister's face. But she had a job to do, she had to be the voice of reason, even if it hurt "I'm sorry.... I'm just trying to make you see the reality of the situation. You and I... we're princesses of Westeros. We don't have the luxury of marrying for love." "Yea I know...I need some time to think" Rhaynna said walking off. *Rhaenyra watched Rhaynna leave, a heavy feeling settling in the pit of her stomach. She knew her sister was hurting, she could see the pain in her eyes, and it broke her heart.

Few days later

"Dragons are roaming the skies" Rhaynna said walking to the ballroom for the Rhaenyra wedding feast with Quentyn beside her, Quentyn looked up at the dragons flying overheard, a sense of awe filling him. He had seen dragons before, but it was always a breathtaking sight. As he walked next to Rhaynna, he turned to her and spoke, his voice softer than usual "They are something, aren't they?" "Indeed they are...I wish onyx was up there, then again he'd probably just burn everything to the ground" She said watching the dragons with a sad expression.

Quentyn chuckled a little at her words, amused by the dragon's destructive tendencies. But seeing the sadness in her expression, he grew more serious. He glanced at her, a hint of concern in his eyes. "I don't think I've ever seen you this quiet before..." "...after the wedding I am next, I was told the guests currently attending will stay till it was my wedding day...I saw my soon to be husband earlier, he said he couldn't wait till the wedding night to bed me" She said biting her lower lip. Quentyn's heart sank at her words, anger simmering beneath the surface. The thought of her being married off to a man who spoke about her in such a vulgar way filled him with a deep sense of protectiveness.
