Chapter 5: A New Dawn

As both the maid and I continued walking towards the dining hall where everyone was going to have breakfast, I stayed quiet while the maid did so as well. Neither of us had anything to say, and both of us seemed to be very comfortable with the silence, so there was no issue there.

The walk continued for several minutes until we finally reached the door to the dining hall. It was just a big wooden door-nothing special about it other than its massive frame. Overall, it was just a normal door. I was going to open it; however, my maid stopped me.

"Please, Princess, allow me. There's no need for you to do all that," she said.

I didn't bother stopping her, as technically this was her job to serve me, so I let her continue.

She opened the wooden door, and as she did so, a slight creaking noise could be heard from the joints of the door being opened. Because there wasn't much noise, and the dining hall was so massive, the creaking noise was much louder than it should have been. Luckily, there weren't many people in here yet, just like the maid said. There were, of course, other maids, servants, and butlers roaming around, getting everything ready, as this was technically a festive event because the heroes were going to be eating breakfast here.

As they paused what they were doing to look at who arrived, as soon as they saw me, they all bowed and greeted me. I waved my hands towards them, signaling that I acknowledged their greeting. As soon as they got the signal, they continued on with their work.

Aside from the various workers who were doing their tasks of preparing the dining hall for breakfast, I didn't see that many important figures here that I could point out, aside from the two individuals seated at the very front of the massive table in the dining hall. Those two individuals were obviously the King and Queen-aka Seraphina's father and mother-who were the rulers of this country.

They both sat at a specific table meant only for the family. The table was small but large enough to hold various amounts of food. It was decorated with an array of utensils—forks, spoons, knives—as well as clean, expensive-looking plates and One bowl sat there, already filled with fruits and vegetables.  clearly for decoration and eating. The King and Queen were seated in imposing chairs, with other chairs clearly meant for the children and for me.

As the maid and I slowly approached them, I was able to get a good look at the two of them. *Now that I have a good look at them, I have to admit the resemblance really does match that of Seraphina's overall appearance.* The King had a muscular build and was tall, with white hair clearly from aging and striking green eyes. He wore the type of clothing you would often see on kings in various fantasy novels. The same could be said for the Queen; her attire and appearance closely resembled that of Seraphina. However, it was easier to say that Seraphina looked like her. Aside from the long blonde hair that was iconic for Seraphina, the Queen had brown eyes, meaning I only inherited our hair color and beauty from her. That was all I could think of as I eventually reached them, with the maid standing right behind me.

Once I was at a certain distance, both of them turned their heads towards me, looking at me with kind, loving smiles—the kind you would see from loving parents who were just happy to meet their daughter. For me, however, I didn't feel much of anything considering that I wasn't even Seraphina in the first place. Their smiles disturbed me a little for some reason. Luckily, I maintained a poker face and smiled back at them.

*If I had to be honest, I had no idea what to do next. I wasn't prepared for such a situation in the first place.*

*It's a good thing I prepared for such an event to happen in the first place,* I thought, *so I managed to prepare some skills I tested out earlier just for the occasion.* The skills I was referring to were, of course, [All-Knowing] as well as a skill called [Omnicompetence].
