You found out that Mrs. Wilson had betrayed Captain Fletcher and the kids. It turns out, she was in contact with the pirates the whole time. They had been sending her messages through crows, even slipping her a dagger for protection if she needed it. When the pirates left, it was her who signaled for them to abandon her, and she had been listening in on conversations and feeding them information the whole time. But why did she do it?
"She's me aunt," announced Captain Godfrey.
"Wha'! The ol' lady at de ship is yer aunt! How's dat!!" Aradia bellowed.
"Shhhh, they'll 'ear ya," he hissed.
"Well, they'll need to when ya aunt is an ol' lady that works at a bloody merchan' ship!" Hill argued. "How did ya even know!?" she asked, a bit quieter as he gave her a sharp look.
"Saw 'er bloody '𝙂' on 'er 'and! She's a Godfrey!" he argued, standing up and looking out the window.
"So what'cha gonna do, huh?" asked Aradia, trying to think of an answer herself.
"Blimey, I ain't sure. The weird thing is, she knows and she's fine?" he questioned loudly.
"Ya said she's fine with it?" she asked, standing up, and he nodded.
"That's it!" she cheered, making him turn his gaze to her with a questioning look.
"We can send 'er a crow and tell 'er to keep a dirty eye on 'em for us, I didn't trust 'em," offered Hill enthusiastically.
"So ya mean?"
"Yasss, she could be with us," she hissed, approaching him to encourage him. "Just a call to yer lil birdie and tell 'er everythin'. If she agrees, then good for us. If she doesn't, we won't cross paths again, will we?" she whispered in his ear like a devil convincing a man to kill someone. "C'mon Vesper, do it."
"Aaahh, blast it then, get the boys, I'll tell 'em everythin'," he snapped after zoning out for a while, thinking about Aradia's words.
Hill gave a hysterical laugh as she grabbed her sword and hat, then jumped from the window whistling to call for the rest of the crew.
"C'mon boys!! Captain Godfrey wants to say somethin'!" she cheered, swinging on a rope around the ship.
Godfrey appeared as his crow just flew off. Looks like he just told him to fly to Wilson—or Godfrey—and tell her about their plan.
Captain Godfrey told them about Edna and their plan. Some didn’t agree at all, but after Aradia stepped in, all agreed enthusiastically.
---
After a few hours, Mrs. Wilson surprisingly agreed, and so fast. Their deal was for her to just keep an eye on the captain and the kids in case they were planning something "nasty," as they called it.
The very next day, Mrs. Wilson gave them the information of a lifetime. If they had postponed their agreement for another day, she wouldn't have heard that the trip was a disguise to find treasure.
"I told ya, I didn't trust 'em!" yelled Hill after Godfrey told her what the crow had told him.
"No one trusted 'em," Godfrey uttered, patting his crow.
"I mean I was de one who told ya to do that," she said, crossing her legs and playing with her dagger while a smirk grew on her face.
"I could've done it alone, ya know," he mumbled, still patting his bird. Aradia snapped and suddenly stood up, pressing her dagger to Godfrey's neck.
"Yer sayin' I wasn't any help?!!" she shouted, her eyes glaring murderously.
"I'm not sayin' that, but let's not quarrel, dear. We got loads of work tomorrow."
Aradia lowered her dagger slowly, still glaring at him, then finally put it away.
"So yer gonna take de journal tomorrow?" she asked, sharpening her sword.
"Yeah, take the bloody book, then take 'er with us," he said, adjusting his clothes and hat
"Take 'er, eh?" she asked, looking at him.
"Aye, she's me aunt," hissed Godfrey, now feeding his crow.
---
"Now boys, we 'ead to Ruby Island!!" yelled Captain Godfrey to his crew while waving the journal in his hand. Hill gave a hysterical laugh as she cheered with the others.
"Where there's gold! Diamonds! An' who knows what else!" he shouted smugly as the cheers grew louder. "Ya all get 'ALF of de gold! And I get de o'er 'alf," he bellowed, expecting cheers, but it was so quiet it almost felt like there was no one on the ship. Even Hill, who supported everything he said, stayed quiet.
"What?! Why are ya quiet?!" he asked, confused and angry. "Cheer up, we gonna find gold!" The cheers got a bit louder but were still subdued. "What, I'm yer captain! I take 'alf!" argued Godfrey angrily. The crew finally cheered again but still uncertainly, knowing Godfrey was capable of getting rid of them if they didn’t obey. Godfrey gave them a nod, smirking, then went inside his room.
But just as he was about to close the door, a shoe stepped between it—Aradia's shoe—and Godfrey recognized it. He let her in, then went to the mirror to start shaving his stubble.
"What do ya want, huh?!" he asked, sharpening his razor.
"The 'alf an' 'alf nonsense ain't for me, right? I'll take from yer 'alf, right?!" she questioned, approaching him with a stern look.
"An' why's that? Aren't ya one of the crew?!" he uttered, looking at her in the mirror.
"So ya mean to tell me I'll get 'alf with the rest of 'em?! I'm like the rest of 'em?!" she asked through clenched teeth, her jaw tight with anger. She turned even redder when he nodded.
"Be that the truth, huh? Well... I ain't sorry for that," she hissed at him.
"What do yo-?" But before he could finish, a sharp sword sliced into him from back to front.
"You...bloody...Hill!" he exclaimed, his voice cracking as his razor fell from his hand.
"CAPTAIN! Captain Hill now!" she corrected, pulling her now-bloody sword from his body, making him collapse to his knees. She kicked him, causing him to fall unconscious.
"Yer the one who did it, Vesper," she uttered, walking to the door and opening it.
"Hey you, yeah you, go clean the blood and get rid of 'im," she ordered a passing pirate, who looked stunned at the scene and whimpered like a cat.
She mock-whimpered back. "What are ya, a blasted kitten? Go clean it an' gather the boys. I 'ave an announcement to make," she demanded, smirking.
