Mick knew that after their crying session, Mich wouldn't want to go home. What can you say, he knew her, she was his wife after all. So, despite not saying anything, he invited her to donut shop the two had ended up in after they got married all those years ago.

So, there the two were, in a booth, a cup of coffee and a donut sitting in front of the two. Mich was yet to speak, she was staring at the steaming hot coffee. She felt the stare that Mick was sending him, she tried not to be bothered, but he was.

But he had to be patient, Mich will speak when she wants and needs to. Luckily for him, he didn't have to wait that long.

"What happened?"

He hummed as he stared into her eyes, "You-you don't remember?" he asked nervously. Mich sighed, "I remember my memories but I- I want to know what happened on your end?"

Mick felt nervous all of a sudden, he never told anyone his side of the story. He thought he wouldn't need to, what with Seb not wanting him anywhere near her.

He took in a breath before he played with his hands, "After finding out what happened to you, I visited everyday that was until your uncle asked me to stop..."

Mick was once again sitting on the chair next to the hospital bed where his wife was laying in. The season was over and he flew straight back, just like every race that season. He wasn't doing great he knew that but his main priority was going back to her, where Mich was still laying, unconscious. The doctor had told him that any day now, she could wake.

That was the only thought in Mick's mind every day. Especially on days where he wasn't there. It was tearing him apart, seeing her like that. He felt so helpless.

"My dearest darling love." He whispered. A small smile on his face, he remembered what your facial expression was every time he called you that. He couldn't help but let out a sad chuckle, "I know you hate when I call you that, but I miss you." He whispered, the tears welling up in his eyes again.

Gently grabbing her delicate hand, he let out a sigh, "Forgive me but I feel like this situation, I am allowed to. I hope you'll understand." Mick remembered when the doctor told him that there was a big possibility that Mich can hear him. So, every time he was there, he would just speak, in hopes he wasn't one of the memories she will forget.

"Gosh, I miss you." He sobbed out. He was exhausted but he knew he had to hold on, he didn't want Mich to wake up without him there, he didn't want her to think that he gave up on her.

"You don't know how horrible I feel. I should have stopped you from going. I would have handled you hating me that hour, day or even week than see you like this."

He intertwined their fingers, "Missing you usually comes in showers, tonight it feels like a damn thunderstorm."

But what Mick didn't expect was for Seb, one of the few people he trusted would throw him out of his wife's room. For the former driver to tell him he wasn't good for Mich,

"Seb, that's-she's my wife." He said, tears flowing down his cheeks. He couldn't believe what was happening.

"I know. But, the doctor said to give her time-"

"But what if she does remember me?"

"She doesn't."

And just like that his life shattered. He fell to his knees and bowed his head as he grabbed Seb's hands, "Then please. Please let me in. Let me help her remember. Please Seb. Please, I'm begging you."

But no matter the begging, the older man had made a decision. So, when Mich woke up, it was only Seb, and Mia. But it didn't matter anyway, Mick was off, forced to prepare for the season with an empty heart.

"I gave you the time and space they believed you needed." Mick muttered before looking up at her again. He let out a defeated chuckle and shrugged his shoulders, "But after a year of trying, begging, I saw you again but you looked past me."

"Mick-"

"I tried everything." He cut her off, a slight scoff escaping his lips, "Drinking, pushing my body despite exhausted to drive more than 100miles every race, skiing and you know I hate that, I almost lost my seat..."

He was staring into her eyes, they showed nothing but pain and sadness, but he smiled. Mick always smiled, even sad. And Mich remembers that, that's why she didn't stop the tear that escaped her eye.

"But, nothing was the same when my heart was next to you."

Mich let out a shaky breath, "I'm sorry Mick." She said. He shook his head, "It was never your fault and I never blamed your family. Because you know what? You were doing amazing. You're on your way to become a doctor, I'm so proud of you."

She couldn't help it, she reached forward and wiped away his tears, all the while hers were falling.

And he couldn't help it. He closed his eyes as she did so. The feeling of the familiar warmth engulfing him. He leaned his head on her palm before opening his eyes again.

Mich could swear she saw the younger him. She suddenly knew the desperate look on his face. "Oh Micky..." she whispered.

"I don't want to wake up to you not remembering me, because that ruined me. Please don't forget me."

She gulped and stood up from her seat, moving to sit next to him, to be closer to him. She placed her hand on his cheek once more, "Did you know, when humans get into a life threatening accident, their brains would show them memories for seven minutes." She randomly said.

She smiled at him sadly, "Minutes to replay just in case they wouldn't wake up?"

"Mich-"

"Mick, you were my seven minutes." She said as a sob escaped her lips. He let out a breath, placing his hand on top of hers.

"You were my final thought before I lost memories. You will always be."
