"Race with me," I said. Here it goes, I'm gonna shoot my shot "If I win... go on a date with me"
"What?"
"I mean let me take you out on a dinner, sounds good?" I raised my eyebrows while anticipating an answer from her
"And if I win?" she asked, tilting her head.
"Whatever you want."
"Okay, deal!" she smiled and shook my hands. She took a piece of paper from her pockets and gave it to me "See ya around Winter" she winked before she walked away. I unfolded the paper and a number was written on it. She gave me her number which made me smile. I continued making my way to the restaurant so I could order the pizza that my mom asked for.

Three days had passed and the next race will be held tonight. It's me and Karina who are going against each other. We have been exchanging a few texts whenever we can ever since that night, and it has been really nice talking to her and she even teases me about that night when I said I was her girlfriend—I mean, it just came out of my mouth.
Anyway, I'm here at our garage where the three of us Ryujin, Giselle, and me park our cars and this is where we also fix our cars. Right now I'm upgrading my exhaust replacing it with a cat-back exhaust. "Bro this looks sick" Ryujin was about to high-five me but I saw her hands were full of grease so I ran away and then she started chasing me.
"Let's take her for a spin" I suggest and both of them nodded. We took a test drive and seems like everything was fine. All of the parts are working well and the brakes are perfectly fine "She's ready for tonight" I told them and they high-fived.

"Ryu, don't let Gi buy popcorn," I said in a teasing tone
"Why?"
"She won't come back, you'll see her after the race on the other side with Ningning" I teased "Hey!" Giselle slapped my shoulders while I and Ryujing laughed our asses off. As the laughter died down, I caught a glimpse of Karina. "I'll go ahead guys" They nodded and I made my way to Karina.
"Hey" I spoke
"Hi Winter" she smiled when she spotted me she came closer and hugged me "Good luck later because I'm gonna beat your ass" she chuckled
"What would you want if you win?"
"Hmmm," she looks up and puts her fingers on her chin as if she were thinking. She smiled "Well, it's for you to find out," she said in a low and seducing voice which made me lose my breath. I swear this girl has an effect on me.
"Racers! On your places!" the starter announced. Me and Karina entered our car. "Okay Winter, you can do this, you can beat her. You want that dinner, right? So you better beat her" I said to myself as a form of motivation.
I started the ignition, and so did Karina. I looked out the window beside me and saw Karina also looking at me. She gave me a smile revving her car and emitting a low roar "Such a showoff" I smiled and shook my head
The starter stood in the middle holding up the green flags "On your mark... Get set... Go!" as soon as I heard the 'go' I changed the gears and stepped on the gas pedal. Me and Karina are catching up with one another. I'm going 350kmh but Karina was still on my side.
"Move it, Winter," I muttered to myself as I checked my side mirror. Karina was falling behind as I led the way. Glancing in my rearview mirror, I noticed her car had disappeared. "What the heck?" I wondered. Suddenly, her car sped past me and cut me off.
"Shit"
She then revved her car shooting flames from her exhaust. That was so hot of her, uhm anyway I have to get past her. I quickly maneuvered to the side and luckily I swooped in— in time and we were both now side by side. I glanced at her and she was looking at me. We were nearly at the finish line so I pushed my turbo charge making me get ahead of her, but she too pressed her turbo charge. We were both fighting to get ahead but our car was almost at the same speed until we got to the finish line.
I don't even know who won. We were so close. I got out of my car and approached the starter. I saw Karina also making her way here "According to the footage caught by the drone, the winner of this race is...Karina by 0.9 second"
"Not even a second," Karina said "close game"
I let out a heavy sigh and muttered, "I guess there's no dinner tonight?" I shoved my hands deep into the pockets of my jacket and hung my head low, feeling the weight of embarrassment. As I stood there, I absentmindedly kicked at the rocks on the ground with my foot, my mind racing with frustration.
"Who said?" she asked lifting my head up with her fingers
"Well, I lost." she looked at me and smiled
"I still get my prize don't I?" she asked. Oh yeah, what does she want?
"What do you want?"
She grabs my hands "Be my girlfriend Winter, like for real"
"Huh? Y-you?" before I could finish what I was saying she cut me off "Yes Winter, I want you to be my girlfriend. Only if you want to, that is"
"O-of course I do, b-but all of a sudden?"
"What do you mean all of a sudden? Gosh, Winter you really are dense huh?" I'm so confused, what does she mean by that? "I have liked you for a year now dummy" WHAT? IS? SHE? FOR? REAL? I never knew. What the heck? "Even Giselle and Ryujin knew baby" Karina said
"Giselle and Ryujin knew but didn't tell me? Wait—did you just call me baby?" she raised her eyebrows then chuckled
"Why are you turning red baby?" she teased
"Stop it," I said, attempting to hide my face from her, but she gently took my hands and placed them on her back, pulling me into a warm embrace. With her hands on my cheeks, she drew me in for a kiss, and suddenly, the surrounding people erupted into cheers.
