Chenle began dating Rei, his Japanese classmate over spring break. Haechan was impressed, he was quite lonely for a ladies man. But since the beginning of high school, he refused to date anyone else. Hae was actually beginning to think he had a secret crush on someone else....although he was foolish at times, he had a keen eye.

He watched his friend closer than Chen ever knew, that's how he was with those in his circle. He even watched those out of his circle, and knew things others didn't. But he never gossiped. So when Chen began dating someone, he put his suspicions away, but only for the moment. He needed more evidence.

School resumed tomorrow, and against their parents wishes Haechan and Chenle met at their nearby convenience store, they promised they would only be out an hour and that their "bro talk" was very much needed before the end of spring break. But Chen asked if it could be just the two of them, he didn't want to share the news with Jisung just yet...he wasn't quite sure why.

Haechan practically grabbed a snack from every aisle. "very gluttonous," Chen remarked, waltzing to the checkout counter. He was being a cheapskate since the associate told him fruit was half marked, due to close expiration dates.

Haechan finally brought his assortment of sweets to the front, but was eating whatever the associate began to place in the plastic bag, "I'll take that now," he would remark before transferring it out the man's hand. But he couldn't avoid Haechan's charisma and pleasantly abided by his time being wasted.

Chen stood at the front entrance, eyeballing a table he wanted. "We have a volleyball meet on Thursday, don't forget."

"Don't worry about me," Hae said, following behind and grabbing the declared table.

"I'm a pillar of health. I won't even gain an ounce of weight."

"Sure," Chen said, crossing his legs into his grandpa pose. Whenever Haechan gorged on food, he skipped volleyball due to stomach-aches. He would probably miss the next session and cry about his flabby stomach later. Although he suspected Hae actually liked the weight. So did his harem of female friends who packed him weekly lunches. Chen still didn't know if they wanted to be with him or if they loved his proximity to whichever boy they liked at that moment. Either way, he had the most female friends in history and maybe that's why he knew all the gossip. Nonetheless, he got rid of whatever weight he gained easily. Chen envied his darn good metabolism.

❡ For a foggy day, the evening was now crisp and clear. Haechan kinda wished Jisung was here, but he respected Chen's plea.

"I'm so surprised it's Rei." Haechan geeked, after Chen finally raised the topic. "What did you do to convince her?"

Chen sucked his teeth, "convince her!? Now, why would I have to do that?

I don't convince girls my naive Channie, she simply came to me."

"Oh shut up, " Haechan replied with an even snarlier smile than his cocky friend gave off. "Rei does not even like any of the guys. And she always fought with you..."

"That's because you don't understand women," Chen refuted. "Her endless teasing?" He uncrossed his legs and began gesturing with his hands. "Just a cover up. Girls simply cannot hide their feelings forever..."

Haechan gobbled down his onion flavoured chips, completely amused and proud that his friend had his mojo back. "I guess I had to be there to see it."

He wasn't sure if he believed his friends' side of the story but he decided he meant well and didn't have any secret feelings for anyone else after all...
