CHAPTER THIRTY ONE
THE TRUTH

Leanne was in the middle of watching Grey's Anatomy when Jimmy had suddenly come over saying he wanted to hang out.

The girl didn't mind, it was her man's brother and she did wanna get to know him if her and Jey were gonna go further in their relationship. What she didn't get however was why did it have to be right now. After 11 at night.

What made it worse is that by 12 he didn't even stop to leave.

She had gotten a phone call but it went ignored because Jimmy decided to teach her how to make their family's famous barbeque.

"Now you can leave this to soak for 24 hours, if you really want it to fall of the bone, but for now we'll just make it." He instructed.

Leanne was tired by now, she wasn't even hungry when he offered to make that in the first place, "Jimmy listen this was great and all but I really need to go to-"

"Wait! It's almost the best part." He lifts up the pot letting the steam hit his face, "you smell that, you feel that seasoning, mmm...perfect."

Leanne held back a groan and watches him take off the stove and prepare himself a place.

"Do you want one?" Jimmy asks.

"Do I want one? Jimmy! I can eat that tomorrow, right now I need to sleep." She stressed putting her hands in front her, her fingers tense as she held out open fists as she spoke.

Staring back at her Jimmy puts down the plate, "...Okay, I'll make a to go plate. Chill."

She huffs walking away from him, only waiting for him to leave.

Jimmy took especially long to do this making the woman more annoyed. From getting a bowl that "perfectly fit" for his pieces of chicken to the "perfect amount of sauce". Jimmy made the process 1000 times longer and more annoying than it needed to be.

When he was finally done and about to leave, the two were startled by Jey's abrupt entrance.

"Oh- wassup Uce! You want some we been cooking all night-" Jey didn't listen to him barging past and walking to the corner of Leanne's room.

Leanne stares at him confused, he starts shuffling through the stuff on the table, momentarily look back at her bed.

"What is he doing?" She asks Jimmy.

"I'on know." Jimmy shrugs. "You alright Uce." Stepping forward, he watched Jey, who's back is turned to them.

Jey was tense, Leanne could feel it rolling off of him, his shoulders stiff and  harsh heavy breathes is heard.

"Jey..." Leanne calls, her voice concerned and weary of if he'd snap.

Jey didn't reply moving on completely auto pilot, he threw books of the table looks though the lamp behind it. He look back at the angle of the bed trying to figure out which height the camera was and trying to picture it from when he saw it earlier.

Looking back at the bed one last time he realized he was a little off and looked at the curtains. Parting it he finally finds what he'd been searching for.
