Chapter 11
Kunikida walked down the crowded street, knowing he had one place he needed to reach. Unfortunately, it seemed like everyone else had the same destination. He sighed and crossed to the other side. This part of town wasn't so bad, which satisfied him.
His destination was tied to an upcoming mission. In just one week, there would be a big dinner party, and the Prime Minister of Japan was expected to attend. An estimated ten thousand people were invited, but there were rumors of a suspicious organization also being on the guest list.
The Armed Agency had been called in to monitor the event and intervene if necessary. Kunikida's first thought was that it would have been easier if they hadn't invited the organization at all. But a mission was a mission, and he wasn't going to argue.
He opened the door, and the front desk lady greeted him. "Hello," he said as he walked over. "I was hoping you could make a dress for me." She raised an eyebrow, looking him up and down. "Not for me," he quickly clarified. "For her." He placed Yn on the counter.
The lady adjusted her glasses and peered down. "I should be able to do something."
Afterward, they followed her to the back, where she asked Yn to take a seat at the counter. Yn looked around while they waited. Finally, she turned to Kunikida and asked, "Hey, why are we here?"
He smiled and replied, "I forgot to tell you: for our mission, we need to dress formally, and you don't have anything else to wear. So I'm getting one made for you." She glanced at her white sundress and shrugged. "That's fine."
The lady returned with some fabric swatches and said, "These are the colors that are in trend." Yn browsed through them and finally said, "I don't like these. Can't I have purple or black?" She picked a deep purple from the box. "How about this?" Yn nodded. "That's good."
The lady smiled and took out her measuring tape. "Okay, I'm going to take some measurements."
As she worked, she asked, "What kind of dress are we thinking?"
Yn glanced at Kunikida, who said, "Something formal."
The lady replied, "Okay, so something like a crepe or pleated style?"
"Whatever you think would work," Kunikida said. She jotted down notes in her book and then said, "That should work perfectly. Come back in five days, and it should be ready."
Kunikida thanked her, and they walked out."I hope it turns out nice," Yn said.
"I have no doubt; I always shop here," Kunikida replied. She smiled as they walked into the agency office.Hugs for everyone who likes and subscribe. I'm always two steps ahead
