Noah left the island without saying goodbye, and for the next two years, there was nothing but silence between them. No calls, no messages, no social media updates. It was as if Noah had disappeared entirely.

In the beginning, Leo tried to reach out. He sent messages, hoping for a response, but none came. Days turned into weeks, and then months, and eventually, Leo stopped trying. The silence from Noah felt like a betrayal, but Leo didn’t know the full extent of Noah’s inner struggle.

Noah had cut off all communication on purpose. He thought that by distancing himself, he could finally move on. The pain of loving Leo, while knowing they could never be together, was too much to bear. His cousin, Mira, had always been open about her feelings for Leo, and Noah couldn’t bring himself to stand in the way. Every time he thought of Leo and Mira together, it tore at him, so he chose the coward’s path—he ran.

The city was supposed to be an escape. Noah buried himself in his studies, trying to forget the boy he had left behind. But no matter how hard he tried, nothing seemed to work. Leo’s laughter, the way his eyes softened when they watched the sunset together, the warmth of his presence—it all haunted Noah’s every waking moment.

On particularly lonely nights, Noah would sit by the window of his small apartment, staring at the distant city lights, wishing he could call Leo. Wishing he could hear his voice again. But he stopped himself every time. He couldn’t go back. Not after what he had done.
