The doctor entered the room. Everyone turned to him waiting on his news.
"Mr Kim has woken up and is doing well"
Namjoon's mother let out a quiet sob and buried her head in her husband's shoulder. He patted her back, assuring her with quiet whispered words of comfort. Their daughter held them both in her arms. So relieved her brother was better.
6 young men, one manager and their translator all began to cry, laugh and hug each other in shear relief.
"I can't allow you all to visit at once, but I can allow you in a few at a time" the doctor added.
"I think his mother, father and sister should see him first" said the doctor. All agreed and they sat down as they left the room.
Namjoon was sitting slightly elevated, on his bed. An oxygen mask at hand. But very much awake.
He saw is father first. "Appa" he said in a husky voice, then his mother and sister appeared. "Eomma, Nuna "
They swiftly moved to his bed side. "Can you hear us?" Asked his father. "Yes. Yes!! I can hear you! " he was so shocked he started to cry with happiness.
They chatted for a while. His father noticed he was becoming tired and suggested they leave and let him get some rest. "I'm sure the boys would love to see you, even if only for a minute" he inquired.
"They are still here, in the US?" "Of course, we don't leave family behind" his mother replied.
Over the next hour, he was reunited with his team. Hugs were given out liberally. As he listened to them talking he knew the sound of their voices was something he could have lost. To have lived in a silent world would have been unbearable.

We would like to update you on the health of BTS member Namjoon.
He has responded well to all treatment and is making a good recovery. He is planning on returning to Korea as soon as the doctors clear him for travel.
We would like to express our gratitude to the hospital and medical team for all their efforts.
A big thanks to Army for all your good wishes and pouring out of love to Namjoon and the other members of BTS over this difficult time.
