The antibiotics were fighting the infection, but also made him feel so ill.
He couldn't eat, he just threw it back up.
A second IV was started to provide nutrients and an anti sickness medication was added to the mix.
He felt toxic. Every cell in his body felt like it had been beaten.
"The cure is worse than the illness" he said to Jin. "It's something that has to be done" his hyung replied.

The nurse came in the room to carry out the hourly observations required by the doctor.

She noted down the numbers. A small look of concern swept over her face.

"Is something wrong?" Asked Namjoon.
"Just a slight temperature rise. I'll let the team know" she replied

Jin sat, reading aloud to his friend. Namjoon felt his soothing voice washing over him. He felt so relaxed and comfortable.

Suddenly, he started to shake. His limbs thrashing out. Jin jumped up, ran to the door shouting for help. The medical team rushed in.
"He's fitting" "Get the anti seizure medication ready" "Hold him down"
The monitors started to alarm. Then the worst sound, as the heart monitor flatlined.
"Start CPR" "charge to 150, CLEAR!"
Namjoon's body jumped in response. Still the flatlined tone sounded.
"Charge to 200, CLEAR!"
This time a faint rhythm could be heard.
"Let's get him to ICU"
The bed was pushed out of the room leaving it silent. Cables swinging on the monitoring equipment.
Jin stood, silent, in a daze. He crouched down, put his head in his hands and quietly sobbed.
