A Suprise

        Why did I agree to this? I ask myself as I follow Leaf to a place he said I needed to see.

"Come on, Silvy. You have to see this." Leaf said, pulling me towards what he deemed as important.

I trusted Leaf, but my curiosity was intrigued by the secrecy behind the location he was taking me too. I didn't deserve to know his special place, and.. I.. didn't really deserve to be his friend.

I.. tried to push him away like I did with the others, but he persisted and kept sticking with me. I don't know if he's a devoted friend, or a fool to think I am a good person to be friends with. But fine.. if I cannot protect him from myself, then I will protect him from the rest of the world.

... That sounded better in my head.. Wait, this is an internal monologue, what the fuck am I talking about at this point?

"Come on, it's right here!" Leaf suddenly pulled me forward, snapping me out of anything I was thinking about.

"Now, close your eyes." He says as we stop near some branches and leaves.

I simply look at him with a confused look.

"Come on. It's a surprise, you can trust me right?" He responds to it with a small, kind, smile that instantly melted my heart. I quickly hide my eyes and my face with my arm, both to comply with his request and to hide my face in embarrassment.

          He continues to lead me for a short while as I begin to hear sounds of water. I soon hear running water in front of me as Leaf stops me, swiftly moving behind me.

"You can look now." He says in a beautifully cheerful tone.

I take a deep breath before opening them, and as I do I suddenly see a small spring running to a small pond in the center. The forest surrounds the pond, almost like giving the indication that it's here, waiting for someone.

"Nice right?" Leaf suddenly pops his head from behind my shoulder with that adorable smile once again on his face.

I quickly nodded, amazed by the beauty of this place.

"See, I knew you would like it." Leaf responded, gesturing me to come closer to the pond, "I come here when I feel down and I wanted to show it to you. Because.. you are really nice."

I slightly blush at his words before waving my hand dismissively.

"C-come on! Of course you are." He protests.

"You always help me with gathering herbs for my healer training and you always escort me to class so nobody picks on me. Hell, I became a bit of a celebrity thanks to you being my bodyguard!"

I chuckle a bit.

Funny.. a month ago I wouldn't even make a sound next to anyone I was interacting with, but now I at least make sounds along with my gestures to better communicate with others. Leaf has a strange effect on me, and makes me feel.. strange when I'm around him..

Before I could notice, Leaf sat down on the ground signaling for me to sit down beside him.

        The place is really calming with the gentle sounds of the running spring along with the sun illuminating the water. With some rays of sun falling on Leaf, showing his cute face in all its glory.

"Anyway.. I wanted to talk with you about something." Leaf broke the silence as I looked at him with confusion. Usually he would talk about his day or tried to get to know me better, but this time it felt different. I hope it isn't what I think it is...
