They drove in relative silence for a while, the road stretching on in front of them, illuminated by the headlights. The quiet hum of the engine seemed to relax y/n, though she was still occasionally humming to herself, her fingers tapping lightly on the steering wheel. Choso, on the other hand, was content to sit in the stillness, taking small sips of his coffee while keeping his eyes on the road.

After a few more miles, y/n let out a small, almost nervous laugh. "So, uh, there's something I should probably tell you," she began, her tone lighter than usual, though there was a faint edge of hesitation beneath it.

Choso's eyes narrowed slightly, but he didn't turn to look at her. "What is it?" he asked, his voice cautious.

She bit her lip, clearly debating how to phrase what she was about to say. "Well... you're probably going to be mad, but I feel like I should be honest, especially since we've been driving for a while now."

Choso's gaze flicked toward her, a sense of unease settling in his chest. He didn't like surprises, and the way she was building up to whatever confession she was about to make wasn't helping.

"Spit it out," he said, his voice sharp with impatience.

Y/n winced slightly but then offered him a sheepish grin. "Okay, okay... So, here's the thing—I, um... don't actually have a driver's license."

Choso's entire body went rigid, his fingers tightening around the coffee cup as her words sank in. For a second, he wasn't sure he'd heard her correctly. "What?" he said flatly, his voice dangerously low.

Y/n gave a nervous laugh, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "Yeah... I kind of learned how to drive from my brothers, but, you know, never actually got around to the whole official 'license' thing."

Choso's eyes widened, and he turned to fully face her, his calm demeanor quickly crumbling. "You're telling me we've been driving for hours, and you don't even have a license?" His voice was cold, a sharp edge of anger cutting through each word.

Y/n winced again but tried to keep the mood light, waving a hand dismissively. "Hey, relax! I know how to drive—I mean, you're still alive, right?" She shot him a cheeky grin, though her smile faltered under the weight of his glare.

Choso's jaw clenched tightly as he struggled to keep his temper in check. "This isn't a joke, y/n. Do you realize how dangerous it is to be driving without a license? And you didn't think to mention this sooner?"

Y/n's smile faded completely, and she shifted uncomfortably in her seat. "I didn't think it was a big deal," she mumbled. "I mean, I'm careful! And it's not like we've run into any problems..."

Choso exhaled sharply, shaking his head in disbelief. His mind raced, calculating the risks and the reckless nature of what she'd done. He had trusted her, albeit reluctantly, to get them to their destination safely, and now he realized she had been lying, however small or well-meaning that lie may have been.

"That's not the point," he said, his voice laced with frustration. "You're putting both of us at risk by driving without a license. What if something happens? What if we get stopped?"

Y/n's eyes softened, and she nodded, sensing the seriousness of the situation now. "I'm sorry, really. I didn't mean to lie... I just didn't think it would matter."

Choso ran a hand through his hair, trying to calm the anger simmering beneath his skin. His trust issues were already sky-high, and this revelation only worsened them. He couldn't afford to let his guard down, not even for a moment. Not with someone who hid things, even small things.
