The first-year students arrived at a secluded village near the mountains although the village seems to have been slowly modernize, it still retained some traditional houses and such. Despite that, the village was quiet, a little bit too quiet if it weren't few of the people walking then they would have thought that this village was a ghost town. Shinobu glanced at Y/n by her side and she saw how concentrated yet nonchalant he looked as his eyes would fleet from person to person every now and then.

"Didn't I tell you that staring is rude." Y/n spoke yet he didn't bother to look at Shinobu at all. "You're the sole heir of the Gojo family yet you don't know basic conduct?"

Shinobu frowned. "Lighten up, would you, sour pants?" She groans as Y/n looked at her with a scowl, offended by the nickname. "The people here will think that you were the cause of the suicide cases happening here if that expression keeps getting stuck in your face." She poked his chest.

"Whatever." Y/n sighed, not wanting to deal with her nonsense as he decided to walk past her as Shinobu looked at him with shock as he just left her there without even looking back.

"Hey!" Shinobu shouted as she runs up to him meanwhile Shoko and Suguru just watch them from behind with amusement as the white-haired girl kicks Y/n's leg who pulled on her hair in retaliation and anger.

"You wanna bet if they're going to be marrying each other?" Shoko asked Suguru who looked at her in surprise at her statement. "I'm betting my money that they're going to be marrying each other." She said with a confident smirk.

"Alright, I'll bet they're going to not get married." Suguru shrugged his shoulders as they followed their two other classmates who are still bickering with one another. "That's enough, you two. We won't get anything done if you duke it out with one another." He told them.

Y/n pushed Shinobu's face away from him and rolled his eyes. "So, where should we even begin with?" he asked, crossing his arms across his chest. "The entire town reeks and at the same time the cursed energy is everywhere. It would take a few days for us to find where the perpetrator really is." He pointed out.

"Reeks?" Shinobu asked as her nose twitched from sniffing the air. "I don't smell anything?" she looked at Y/n with scrunched up look on her face.

Y/n sighed, exasperatedly. "I have a better nose than you do." Was his reply to her as he ignored her angry complaints. "So, what should we do then? Any ideas?" he asked both Suguru and Shoko.

"I think our best bet is that we should split up into pairs and cover each half of the village." Suguru suggested. "Me and Shoko will go look over here while you and Shinobu will look over there."

Y/n pointed at Shinobu. "Why am I stuck with her?" he asked.

"Excuse me!" Shinobu responded angrily. "I should be the one asking that! Why am I stuck with him?!" she shouted at Suguru.

"Look, guys." Suguru sighed tiredly. "We're going to be stuck with one another for the rest of our years here in Jujutsu High so what better way than to get along with each other by pairing up?" he smiled while clapping his hands together.

Y/n just sneered at Suguru as he turned around and left the three to do the mission. Shinobu also sneered at Suguru before going after her partner who was already a distance away from them. Shoko and Suguru watched the two in amusement as Shinobu ran after Y/n and saw her angrily complaining at him while Y/n just couldn't care less about whatever Shinobu was complaining at him.

Y/n and Shinobu were quietly walking with another albeit they were five feet apart from each other that is. Shinobu was sure that Y/n would never her notice stealing looks at him every now and then since she is wearing her sunglasses. Unfortunately, she is proven wrong when Y/n released a deep sigh filled with nothing but stress and tiredness as he turned his head with an exasperated look on his face.
