Chapter 7

I woke up early the next morning the sunlight creeping through my window intruding my sleep .I opened my eyes and a feeling of numbness washed over me and I felt reluctant to get out of bed .

For a few moments I laid in bed thinking about yesterday.I sat up and looked at the photo of my deceased mother and father smiling at me through photo .I grabbed my phone from my bedside and opened it .
A hundred messages from my friends and other people came popping up.
I went to my group chat and read all the messages.
I had tons of calls and messages from Alice,Samuel , Kate and James.
I sighed .
I had to reply to them at some point.As I was scrolling through my group chat I saw a screenshot of a news headline

ALBERT AND JANE ANDERSON TWO
RESIDENTS OF X TOWN FOUND
DEAD IN THEIR HOME

I read the article.It explained that my parents had some shady dealings going on with some wrong sort of people and had gotten themselves killed .Their daughter Isabella,who turned out had biological relatives has been sent to live with them .

Shady dealings ?What the fuck?.
I felt a wave of anger and I dialed Alice's number .She didn't pick up so I left her a message.

I called Kate .
She picked up .

"Hello Kate speaking?"
I let out a sigh of relief when I heard her voice.

"Kate it's Bella "

"Oh my God Isabella where are you ,we've been worried sick about you I am so sorry Isabella about your parents,where are you how are you -"?

"Kate Kate slow down I 'm fine"
" I think "I said it quietly more to myself.

I heard a knock on my door .

"Kate listen I have to go right now but I 'll message you later ,tell the others not to worry about me "
I ended the call and shoved the phone under my pillow and pretended to sleep .
I heard someone coming in and after a moment they were gone.

I opened my eyes and looked at my phone.Kaye had left a bunch of messages with question marks .I reluctantly got out of bed and dragged myself to the shower and dressed myself in comfortable jeans and t shirt .I dried my hair and looked at myself in the mirror.Today was my first morning when I didn't receive a morning hug from my mother.I  started to unpack my stuff  distracting myself  from my thoughts.Emptying my suitcase I felt something hard  something hard beneath my clothes .I removed the clothes to find out what was beneath it to find a cold hard metal thing -a gun.My hands froze on the weapon and I backed away .
A gun.
I started breathing heavily.
I looked back at the suitcase inside which lay the weapon.
But why ?
I went slowly towards it and opened it .I took out the gun with shaking hands.I ran my finger along the surface .It would take one pull ,one pull of the trigger to end my misery .I would be reunited with my parents.Just do it Isabella what's the point of living now .Just end it .You will be free .Do it .

A loud bang outside shook me out of thoughts and the weapon slipped out of my hands .
Then I realized what I was about to do .
I gingerly picked it and placed it in the hidden compartment in my  closet I had discovered a few moments ago. somewhere.But I found nothing except

' Why did they put those in my belongings '

'A gun?'

Shaking away those questions I went down to have breakfast before anyone could  come to get me .

I went to the kitchen where I saw Riccardo,Matteo , Vincenzo having breakfast.
