While David and Emma combed through the woods, Juliet and Hook were in charge of Elsa. As they walked through town, they took alleyways in between buildings to avoid the growing mob of angry townspeople. Hook led the way, checking to make sure they were not spotted. Or, more specifically, that Elsa was not spotted. He reached the street and looked around.
"All right." He whispered. "Coast is clear." He started walking down the street, Elsa following him, and Juliet following Elsa. Right after exiting the alleyway, Elsa stopped walking. Juliet sighed, which alerted Hook. He turned around to look at the woman. "That means go, love." Elsa shook her head, staying in place.
"I'm not coming with you." Hook sighed, exasperated. "There's someone out there with powers like mine. I need to find out who. I can't just hide out in some sheriff's station." Hook raised an eyebrow in surprise.
"Oh." He muttered. "Well, that works out quite nicely then, 'cause that's not where we're going." This confused both Elsa and Juliet.
"It's not?" They asked in unison. Hook shook his head.
"With Emma running into danger? Not a chance in hell. The sheriff's station's that way." He pointed in the direction opposite to where he was walking.
"Oh, I was wondering why you were going that way." Juliet chuckled. Elsa furrowed her brows.
"And what's that way?" Hook shrugged.
"With any luck? Danger." With that, he turned around and started walking. Elsa and Juliet gave each other a look and followed him.
The place they ended up going to was Gold's shop. Inside, Gold was tinkering with one of the objects in his shop. He didn't even look up as the three entered the shop.
"I must apologize, but I'm really rather busy today." He announced. Hook smirked.
"Here I was hoping for a warm hello from the newly reformed Mr. Gold." He sauntered over to the counter.
"This is still a place of business. So unless you have something to offer me, I'm afraid I can be of no further help." Juliet shook her head in faux annoyance, looking around the shop.
"Well, as it turns out, I do have something to offer you." Hook responded. "My silence." Juliet tilted her head to the side. What was Hook talking about? Apparently that was enough to get Gold's attention. He looked up from the magnifying glass. "See, I know that that dagger you gave Belle was a fake." Gold sighed, putting down his tools.
"Is that right?" Hook nodded.
"I've hunted you a long time, my old crocodile, and I know you better than most. And I know that you would never let anyone have power over you. Not even Belle." Gold looked skeptical of what Hook just said.
"And you expect her to believe you without a shred of proof?" Hook chuckled.
"Well, I could ask her to summon you with the dagger. Then when it doesn't work... Proof." Juliet rolled her eyes. This constant arguing between Hook and Gold was starting to really get on her nerves. She tuned out their argument until they came to a decision. "Good news. He's agreed to help." Both Elsa and Juliet came over to hear the rest of the solution. Elsa gave him the lock of hair that she was holding.
"This hair is from Marian. Someone cast a freezing curse on her. We need to know who it is." Gold took the hair from her palm and held it between his finger and his thumb, analyzing it.
"Well, you're in luck. Magic can change forms but never be destroyed. We will simply return it to its natural state." With a wave of his hand, snowflakes started to rise from the hair and form a mini cluster.
