"She looks like a mummy. I wonder what she looks like. When can we see her new face, mom?"
My new face? Did something happen to my face?
"It depends on how fast she heals. Cassandra was lucky that her injuries are not as severe. It is truly a miracle."
That's my mother's voice. Is everyone here?
"I see movement!"
I open my eyes to see my whole family staring at me.
"Cassandra!"
My father and mother- even Christina and Catherine are here. The only one missing is the youngest, Carmen.
"It must hurt. Can you talk, honey? Do you remember who we are?" I gave them a little nod but when I try to speak, I feel like my throat is on fire.
"Someone, inform Carmen that Cassandra has woken up." My mother is far too happy. I tried to move my body but I couldn't. Also, why can't I talk? Did something happen to my vocal chord? And what happened to my face?
"Are you wondering what happened to you?" I nodded when my father asked me.
