Tara
I sat alone in my room, lost in thought.
The engagement ring on my finger felt heavy, a constant reminder of the commitment i had just made. But my mind wasn't on the joyous occasion; it was consumed by Akshay's strange behavior.
"Kya hua tha?"I thought to herself.
"Everything was going so smoothly, and then suddenly, Akshay became distant. His eyes, seemed cold and detached."
I replayed the events in her head, searching for answers.
The smile on Akshay's face during the engagement ceremony, the way he held my hand, it all seemed so genuine. But now, i couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off.
I thoughts swirled with questions and doubts. Was she just being paranoid, or was there something more to Akshay's behavior? I couldn't help but wonder what the future held for them.
My eyes wandered around the room, my gaze settling on the engagement ring that now felt like a weight on my finger. I thought back to the moment Akshay slipped it on, his indifference stung like a betrayal.
Just then the doorbell rang, breaking my trance. I got up to open the door, finding my best friend, Aroohi, standing with a soft smile on her face.
A genuine one but not so bright, after all my "potato" has become cold and serious CEO now but anyways she's still the same aroohi I have known since my childhood.
"Hey" Aroohi said, still a soft smile on her face, and while holding out a bouquet of flowers.
"How did you know?" I asked in surprise.
"Know what?" She asked, her expression turned serious but confused.
"About this" I said, as she showed her right hand, revealing a diamond ring on her ring finger.
"Tara y- " Aroohi's raised her eyebrow, her expression serious and ready to shower her with flood of questions and scolding. (How can I not invite her only bff in her engagement)
Aroohi took steps towards her as tara starts to walks away from this tornado, I mean her.
"Lis..Listen Aroohi, before you say something let me tell you it wasn't planned All of it just happened too sudden and I couldn't tell you about it. You're my only friend why wouldn't i invite you right?" I said in one go as she interrupts aroohi, and while running away from her.
"What do you mean? All of sudden ? We have phone right for what ?" Aroohi said, with a hint of irritation, and sarcasm.
She picks up the pillow and ready to throw at her but I abruptly stop her.
"Aeyyy aeyy aru aru, please not now, trust me I really didn't get time as everything happened so fast. I can explain please first listen to me" Tara said as to calm her down.
