Chapter 1 - Rebirth

Origin Valley was once a lush green mountainous region. Now deceptively calm, the Heavenly Demon Thi En Tran sped past corpses using a profound movement technique, spilling blood over the still ground. He held an ornate sword in one hand while gripping his shoulder with a grimace in the other.

At once, a flash of blue light appeared a few metres away from him, incinerating the bodies scattered throughout the field and causing a ringing in his ear. Thi En Tran had no time to cover his ears. The disturbance caused pain to flare up in his shoulder which killed his momentum enough for three figures to catch up from the rear.

"Sect Master Tran, prostrate yourself in front of father here, and this father may spare your life!" The old man in the lead called.

Thi En Tran clearly recognized those who stood in front of him. They were once the two great elders and supreme elder who loyally served in his Heavenly Demon Palace. Of course, as birds die for food, men die for wealth. After learning of him inheriting the treasures of the great Martial Ancestor of the sect, they did not hesitate to turn on him. Thus, the Heavenly Demon Palace was split into two factions, one led by Thi En Tran, and the other headed by Supreme Elder Khuu. After a fearsome battle, the three elders of the sect had combined their energies to activate the Moon Scattering Array, causing Thi En Tran to be the only survivor.

"You court death! Once this king regains his strength, I will not hesitate to raze you and your followers to the ground!" Thi En Tran shouted furiously.

"You speak nonsense. Of course, father here will personally ensure you do not leave here tonight." Elder Khuu said jeeringly "Tell us where to find Martial Ancestor's inheritance, or I will make you suffer a fate worse than death."

While wounded, Thi En Tran was by no means weak, being on the cusp of breaking through to the Origin Realm. In actuality, he was here to find the Origin Condensing flower in order to refine a pill that would grant him insights into the next great realm. Naturally, being a cultivator of his calibre meant that his arrogance knew no bounds. He would rather die than to lose face by kowtowing and begging for his life in front of Elder Khuu.

"You underestimate me, Supreme Elder Khuu. You also disrespect the ability of our Martial Ancestor." Thi En Tran shot a smirk at the old man. "Behold, the power of his technique!"

The three figures shook slightly at Thi En Trans' remark, however did not get too agitated. "Impossible! There's no way you could have comprehended Martial Ancestor's Technique, you're bluffing!"

Feeling that there was no need to say anymore words to dead men, Thi En Tran began circulating his qi through his meridians, causing him to exude a terrifying Aura. The three elders of the Heavenly Demon Palace took a step back at this sight, feeling the powerful energy fluctuations he was radiating.

Supreme Elder Khuu suddenly felt the need to shout. "Everybody! Disperse quickly, he plans to self-destruct and blow us up and take the inheritance with him!"

However, at that time Elder Khuu had reacted too late, and as the three were attempting to escape, a bright blast of Thi En Trans' qi rapidly expanded behind them, causing their figures to disappear from the world. Of course, being at the centre of the explosion, Thi En Tran did not survive either.

Once the sound of roaring energy ceased, Thi En Tran naturally assumed that he had died and his soul had either been erased, sent to the afterlife, or was wandering the earth. Though after some silence, he began hearing more loud noises that occurred at regular intervals. Suddenly feeling his consciousness return to his body, and all five sensations working, he was slightly ecstatic. As his vision returned, he looked up to see a burly man in armour holding what seemed to be a long rope. The man reeled his arm back and sent it downward, causing Thi En Tran to once again feel pain.

"Are you deaf or what, slave? I said get back to work!"
