"Big brother Tran, the guards are going to come rushing down here aren't they?" Bu Lan Deng remarked. He reached high up to the sky to stretch his limbs.
"Who are you calling big brother? Never mind, it's likely that the whole camp heard the explosion." Thi En Tran paced around the room. "It's a bit early but looks like it's time to leave."
"Can't you teach me some moves first brother Tran?"
"Now's not the time, once we make it out of here I might." Thi En Tran said, "If we make it out."
"Aw, I wanted to be able to demolish guards like you do." Bu Lan Deng pouted. "You know,
Kamehameha! Breaking the Sky Swordsmanship! Ghost Fire Lock! Master spark!"
What the hell did I get myself into, he's like a kid! Thi En Tran thought. To be fair, Thi En Tran preferred that Bu Lan Deng was a big reader. At least it would be easier to teach him things in the future.
"Just," Thi En Tran pinched the bridge of his nose. "Shut up for now and let's get out of here."
As if on cue, 3 guards clamoured through the hallway with spears in hand. They did not seem amused to see two men in a ruined jail cell when they were supposed to be slaving away in the mine, like good slaves should be.
"Halt! The director has ordered that all..." The man in front paused. "Miscreants not currently in the mines are to be terminated immediately!"
Bu Lan Deng spoke up. "Why are you telling us to halt? We weren't even going anywhere..."
Thi En Tran tapped Bu Lan Deng on the shoulder. "A word?" They both turned around.
"Hey what are you two blabbering about behind our backs! You're about to die, you know."
Of course, Thi En Tran continued talking.
"Don't treat this like it's some sort of game you idiot! This is no time to be cracking jokes." Thi En Tran ushered.
"But, but brother Tran, they're so weak!"
It's not like Thi En Tran hadn't noticed, but he just thought that it was a tad presumptuous for a person who had just begun cultivation to say that.
Thi En Tran turned back around to the guards. "Brother Bu, run!"
Willing a powerful force to his legs, Thi En Tran activated his movement technique and grabbed onto Bu Lan Deng's collar. With him in tow, he collided with the guards, causing them to crash to the ground like getting a strike in a game of bowling.
"They're getting away!"
The voices of the three guards became faint as Thi En Tran sped past them, up winding staircases and through narrow corridors. Thi En Tran could tell with his expansive senses that the amount of guards in the building alone were innumerable.
"Brother Tran, let me go, I can run myself."
Thi En Tran released Bu Lan Deng from his grip. He expected that he would have to slow down in order for Bu Lan Deng to become accustomed to moving at such quick speeds, but he was matching Thi En Tran's pace quite well. Thi En Tran was definitely going to recruit him into the new and improved Heavenly Demon Palace, he had an aptitude for cultivation that was worthy of being a core disciple.
Suddenly, two guards burst out from a wall next to Thi En Tran, and he was forced to circulate his qi in order to resist the shock.
"Bu Lan Deng, brace yourself!" Thi En Tran yelled.
The two guards were radiating a pervasive aura that he had not felt throughout his entire time after transmigrating. After being humbled many times by mere dirt, Thi En Tran knew not to underestimate anyone, and felt true fear for the first time in a while, so much that his knees were about to buckle from underneath the immense pressure.
