6: Keep him safe, no matter what.

Y/N sat on the edge of her bed, her phone pressed to her ear as she spoke in a low, tense voice. The room around her was dimly lit, her focus entirely on the conversation.

"So, that means they're really the Kakouryu?" she asked, her tone filled with dread and frustration. Before she could finish her thought, her former partner, Katou Shigurou, interrupted her.

"Yes. And you were right. They're also hunting you down."

Y/N's face hardened, her expression unreadable yet deadly serious. She had always been aware of the threats circling her, ever since her days as the Crimson Queen, the elite assassin feared across Yokohama. 

Her reputation preceded her—an assassin capable of eliminating high-value targets without leaving a trace, moving through different organizations like a shadow, always swift and efficient. And now, the Kakouryu had set their sights on her.

"What about the one that I asked you?" she inquired, her voice steady despite the racing thoughts in her mind.

Katou's voice crackled on the other end of the line. 

"Well, yeah. Unfortunately, it looks like someone leaked your location. Word got out about you being spotted at the Armed Detective Agency. And.....it raised your bounty. A lot."

Y/N's heart skipped a beat, her body tensing.  "How much?"

"Over a thousand yen." Katou's voice was flat, but the weight of his words hit Y/N like a hammer.

Y/N gritted her teeth, her mind immediately jumping to the people at the agency, especially Kunikida. She had spent nearly a week under his protection, relying on his steadfast idealism and loyalty, but now she realized the danger she had brought to his doorstep.

"D-does this mean that the agency might be in trouble now?" she asked, her voice betraying her fear for the people she had grown to respect. But she barely got the words out before Katou spoke again.

"Yes. And there's no doubt that man guarding you, Kunikida Doppo, is now a target too. He's seen as the next president of the Armed Detective Agency, and considering you've been with him for almost a week, your enemies are bound to make him a priority."


Y/N's jaw clenched, her mind swirling with a mixture of rage and guilt. She cursed under her breath, her hand tightening around the phone as the weight of the situation settled heavily on her shoulders.

"Motherfucker." she thought angrily. It was all falling into place—her presence, the Kakouryu, the rising bounty. 

The agency was at risk because of her, and Kunikida, the one person who had protecting her, was now in the crosshairs.

Her silence lingered for a moment, the tension thick on the line as she struggled to contain her fury. Then, suddenly, her voice broke through, cold and resolute.

"No, they won't."

Katou paused on the other end, his confusion clear. 

"W-what...?"
