" So, Hina, He is your boyfriend?" Kiba enquired suspiciously.
" I am " Uzumaki-Kun said with a bored expression.
And Hinata wished she had never left her bed today. Saturdays had always been the relaxing days for her. On those days she would just do some chores in the house and play with Mirai all day. And at afternoon, she would leave for her part time work in a book cafe. Hinata always feels grateful for the silent atmosphere her job provides her with a fair amount of money. She is a fantasy reader and loves fiction. With that comes the obsession over anime. Sometimes, she wonders if she is alright? is it fine to love things now, even after everything she loved had been snatched away from her. But then again, her obsession over these things is the only thing that's keeping her away from breaking down. There is this surreal feeling to love something which is never going to be taken away from you and you know that. Before the accident, Hinata never liked materialistic things. She was a person who only loved the warmth of her family. She had never stick to any favorite dresses and jewels, sure the maids did have for her. But she never did. Once everything was gone, her favorites too evaporated, and she is grateful that she never had any.
But she loves anime and books. In past also, she liked fiction and was obsessed over Doraemon. The one thing her younger self rewarded her with. And her family used to dote her with every possible gift they could get related to her liking. The only things she carried out from the mansion, her enormous home, were the gifts given to her and some family photos.
"You are not her boyfriend, you are her worst enemy, a bully" Kiba shouted, finger accusingly raised at Uzumaki-kun ,who by the way looked up lazily in return.
Oh boy.
"Ki-kiba-kun, you-u are m-i-staken. Uzu-" Hinata paused and instantly reminisced the conversation she had with the certain blonde.
" Hey" She stopped in her tracks abruptly and turned around to face the 'real 'Naruto Uzumaki, her boyfriend, who dropped her home on his motorbike. She looked up at him, fingers sweaty and pressed against the palm of her hand. She couldn't show him her weakness. She is weak. But she won't allow herself to show him that.
The day in campus, went really long. All her classmates started to take a sudden liking in her and mostly weren't in a good way. Remembering their whispers and glares. Her knees buckled up. So much hate, she wonders if she could ever face it. Her cousin, of course, showers her with the same hate. But.
"Hinata" Uzumaki -kun said. And that was her clue to shut out every thought and focus on him. "Uz-zumaki-kun?" She asked, walking towards him. He was leaning against his bike, waiting until she goes inside her house. She did plead him to be on his way, but he insisted to wait. And the moment she removed the gate on the entrance of the petite house. He called her.
A frown dancing on his lips, he seemed troubled but why? She did know that taking away most of his time is not a good thing and he may or may not be annoyed by that. Was he annoyed at her?
"We are dating. " He declared while keeping an intense eye contact with her. And she shivered. There is something about the way he looks, that makes her soul shake. And she sure was aware by then that he tended to look at people with that same soul penetrating stare. Like he can see right through their soul.
"I'm a-aware" She whispered but the truth seems to be far from her mind to grasp on. It was a long day so many things happened and the one thing that she needed to focus on was that from now on her life wouldn't be the same anymore.
