Starlight's breath hitched as he ran throughout the Rooms. He wasn't the best at running, but he was going as fast as he could ever since he basically broke half of his bones... well he didn't... but it still felt like it.
'Finally... Someone opened the exit! We can finally leave after all these years...' Starlight thought. The entities in the Rooms always wanted to leave. This place was absolute hell, and they would give anything to have an ignorant human life.
Though, despite Starlight's desperation for escape, and how much he wanted the other three to join him, there was still a sinking feeling in his stomach. Maybe he shouldn't tell them. Maybe he should go alone.
No... no- he had to tell them, but he felt as if he would regret that later.
He stopped himself, almost tripping over a rug, as he inhaled the stale air. He rested one arm on the cold table next to him, hearing nothing but his labored breath. Starlight hastily brushed some of his hair out of his face and flicked his ear.
On the table were a few scattered paper files and a cup of coffee that had probably been sitting out for way too long. There were a few lockers in the room, more than half of them were broken and dented. The whiteboard was faintly stained with black, red, and blue ink. A fake potted plant was knocked down in a corner of the room, probably due to how reckless Static was when attacking "players" with his stop sign. Nobody knew how she got the stop sign- not even Static himself- but they all just accepted it. That was obviously the least of their worries.
He should just go on his own. Don't tell them. It could hurt them.
Would they worry about him? Probably not. Nobody would care or even notice if he left- maybe
Scribble would, but still. The Rooms were too big for anyone to notice quickly anyway. He should leave.
Starlight rubbed his temples, sighing. His mouth was dry and his legs were sore. He really didn't wanna continue running, he couldn't at this point. Starlight threw himself on one of the cold plastic chairs to rest. He didn't know how long he was planning to stay there, just long enough for him to catch his breath.
Starlight tugged his hair. He just needed some fresh air. He just-
"OH." Multi said as she slammed the door to the room open and probably broke the hinges, making Starlight flinch and sit up. "Hey, Starry!"
"GAH- I MEAN- Hi...? HI," Starlight blurted out. Hearing his name- the name they gave him- felt... unnatural. Scribble chose the name, they said it was the name of some old potion from something they read and that Starlight kinda reminded them of it. The name they decided to give him could've been worse, though. "What are you- ummm- doing here?"
"...going to the meeting we planned? Remember-"
"WHAT MEETING?" Starlight asked, yelling. There was supposed to be a meeting? Why? Already? The last meeting was.... ummm... He couldn't really remember when the last meeting was, unsurprisingly.
"Oh- OH YEAH, RIGHT ...there IS A MEETING TODAY, RIGHT NOW," Multi ran across the room and slammed another door open again, this time, the entrance to the next room. Where else? "You coming? Actually, Static said you didn't have a choice. HURRY."
Starlight quickly got up and started running after her. "Hey- HEY HEY HEY WAIT-!"
He already spent the past 45 minutes or so painfully running to the entrance, now he had to run the opposite direction? The things Starlight had to go through...
