I never seen Billie so distraught before. We have been together for about a year. She found out she got a cavity at the dentist. I was in the waiting room but got called to help her calm down. "Hey Bils?" I walk in the room. She looks like she's been crying. "What's wrong babe?" She sniffles and shakes her head. "I wanna help you. Does something hurt?" She points to her cheek. "Dr Anderson said he found a tiny cavity and wants to do a filling." She covers her mouth in fear. "I know you were anxious about this appointment but I promise you, everything will be okay. I can hold your hand during the whole thing." "I wanna go home.." she says softly. "You'll feel better once it's done with, besides you don't wanna come back to do this again do you?" She starts crying. "Hey Billie, I didn't mean to upset you." I bring her closer to me rubbing her back. "Shhh I'm here, nothing will hurt you. We can go home if you want but we have to come back to get that filling." "I-I scared." "I know but I'll be with you the whole time." I grab some tissues from the counter and give it to her. She just stares at me. "Here." I gently wipe her tears and help her blow her nose holding the tissue for her. "Better?" She nods. "Um I gotta go." "Where?" "P-I mean bathroom." "Oh it's on the left down the hall."

She looks around nervously playing with the hem of her shirt. "Here let's go." I hold out my hand and she takes it. Following me to the bathroom. "I'll wait outside and I'll be here when you're done." She hesitates before going in and closing the door. I worry for my girlfriend. She seemed terrified being here. I didn't know her fear of the dentist was this bad. I go on my phone browsing through social media while I wait. "Excuse me y/n?" I look up and see one of the staff. "Billie needs to let the dentist get started within the next 20 minutes or we'll have to reschedule." "Oh okay, she's in the bathroom, she'll be done soon." The woman nods and walks away.

I knock on the door. "Billie, you okay in there?" No answer. I started to panic a little. "Billie?!" I knock more. No answer. I end up opening the door surprised it wasn't locked. Seeing Billie standing in a corner looking scared. I close the door behind me. "Hey what's wrong? I was worried about you." All she does is stares at me. "Billie? You alright?" She shakes her head. "Did you use the bathroom?" She bites her nails.
"Well we can do this another time or you can tough it out and get this appointment over with."
I see her not being able to keep still. "Hey you should go to the bathroom. I'll wait outside. She grabs my arm. "No wait!" I look back confused. "Stay wif m-me p-please?" "Of course honey. I just thought you wanted some privacy is all."

She looks around while biting her nails. "Bils you okay?" She nods. "I thought you had to go?" She shakes her head. I didn't believe her. "Maybe you should try?" "Umm I um." "You can tell me anything okay?" I kiss her cheek earning a smile from her. "Um I scared." "I know baby, we can go home, you don't have to do it today. We can come back another time." She nods. And again shuffles around holding herself. "Hey I think you still have to go." I chuckle. She blushes. I help her undo her belt earning a big smile from her. She pulls down her shorts revealing a pull up. She didn't want to look at me. "Hey Bils, it's okay, no judgement here." Her face turned red as a tomato.
"Maybe I should step outside." "Please stay.." I nod. She does her business, I notice her pull up slightly damp but I don't say anything. "There all better hmm?" She nods. I help her wash her hands and I end up rescheduling her appointment at the front desk. I schedule it a week from now. "Thank you, have a nice day." The receptionist says. I look around and see Billie playing with some toys on the floor. She was playing with cars racing them on a carpet that looked like a street map. "Vroom vroom!!" I hear her playing. "Alright ready to go?" She jumps at my voice. "Y-yeah!"

She follows me into the car, the drive home is quiet. She yawns a few times, I can tell she's tired. "You must be tired from today hmm?" She nods trying to fight her sleep. "Go ahead rest those pretty eyes. I can always carry you." She blushes. "Kayy.." She closes her eyes and leans back a little. "Poor girl." I think to myself. I see her head slowly moving down then waking up. "Bils, don't have to fight your sleep. I said it's okay." She nods and yawns. Closes her eyes leaning back. I look at the time, 2pm. We were at the dentist for almost 3 hours. No wonder she's worn out.

We arrive home and Billie shuffles a little. "We're home!" She sheepishly smiles. I get out of the car and go to get her. I unbuckle her seat belt and carry her out of the car. She nuzzles her face into my neck. I walk us in the house. Setting her gently on the couch. She whines. "Hey what's the matter??" "Mhmm!" All she does is kicks her legs. "Billie, what's wrong?" I sit next to her. She makes grabby hands at me. I scoop her up in my lap. "There all better?" She nods. "Good. Now rest, I'll be here when you wake up." She nods and cuddles with me, getting more comfortable. I rub her back gently. "You had a long day, you need sleep." She slowly falls asleep with me stroking her hair. I notice her sucking her thumb. It made me melt, she was so adorable.

It had been close to an hour and I could feel my foot getting numb from not moving. I carefully try to move her to the side of me. But she quickly moves back. "Billie, I need to stretch my legs out." She nods while still closing her eyes. "Thank you." I stand up stretching and walking around the living room. Making sure to keep an eye on Billie in case she wakes up. I go in the kitchen to grab some water and a snack. Didn't realize I didn't eat. So did Billie, she must be starved. "Y/N?!?" I hear her yell out. I quickly run back to the living room. "Yes I'm here!" She looks like she had been crying. "You s-said you would be he-here when I wake up." She pouts. "I know, I'm sorry, I was hungry I had to get something to eat. I didn't think you'd wake up so soon." "You lied." She points at me crying. My heart broke. "Baby I'm so sorry, I was hungry, we didn't eat lunch. Aren't you hungry too?" "K-kinda.." "Wanna eat leftover pasta from last night?" She shakes her head. "Okay what do you want to eat?" She shrugs "umm cookies!!" "We have to eat actual meals first." She pouts. "No pouting." She pouts even more. "It's not gonna work, you need nourishment. How about I warm up those veggie Dino nuggets you love so much?" She perks up and smiles. "Yes!! Please!!"

I start to eat my pasta. Looking up and seeing Billie moving her nuggets around the plate. "I thought you were hungry?" "I am but..." she pouts and points to her cheek. "Aw babe, I'm sorry you're in pain. Here I'll go get the pain meds the dentist prescribed." I stand up to go get the pills. "Here you go." I hand it to her. She just stares at it. "What's going on?" "I can't take that." "Why not? It'll help the pain." "No want it!" She slams her fists on the table, causing her drink to spill over. She looks in shock. "I I didn't mean that!! I'm sorry!!" She curls up into a ball on the chair crying. "Billie it's okay, I'm not mad." I go over to her trying to comfort her. She flinches at my touch. She looks at me in fear. I had never seen her in this state before. "Hey Bils, you don't have to take it okay? But you should try to eat something." She nods and sniffles. "You not gonna hit me right?" "No oh my god, never." This worried me, had someone done this to her before? She had mentioned a couple of toxic exes in the past but nothing about this. "Here, you don't have to eat everything but you should eat something so you don't have a tummy ache." She nods and starts eating slowly. "Good job." She smiles at me.

The next day.
Billie wakes up next to me. "Morning, how did you sleep last night?" I ask. She rubs her eyes. "Good. Um y/n?" "Hmm?" I turn to her. "Do you love me?" I was shocked. "Of course I love you Billie. I love you so much." I pull her closer to me. "Did I do something?" I ask. "No." She whispers. All I did was comfort her, I didn't know what else to say or ask without making her upset. "Thank you y/n. I d-don't deserve you." "Bils, I love you for you. Nothing will change that." I kiss her forehead. "I love you." She whispers. "I love you too." It was silent for a moment. "I haven't told you everything about my last relationship..." "You don't have to- "No, I have to." She cuts me off.

"Have you heard of age regression?" "Um what?" "So if something traumatic happens, my mind goes back to a little kid. It's something I can't control a lot of the time... so at the dentist, I regressed." "Aw Bils, that's it? I don't care what you do, I love you for you." She smiles. "That's why I wore um..a pull up cause sometimes I have accidents." She blushes. "I don't have a problem with that at all." She takes a deep breath. "So my ex boyfriend knew about it. It was fine at first but then he took advantage of me." She wipes her tears away quickly. "Hey you don't have to explain if it's too much." She shakes her head. "If I misbehaved, h-he w-would hit me." "Babe, nooo I'm so sorry, he's a loser." She smiles. "I would never hit you, okay?" She nods and cries into me while I pull her in for a hug. "I love you so much Billie." "I love y-you t-too y/n th-thank you." "Of course, thank you for telling me. I would never judge you, okay?" She nods. I kiss her softly earning a smile from her.
